Barney Frank and company blocked the GSE bill that was sponsored by Mccain. It would have reformed the GSE's. Instead it was blocked by the Liberals and look what happened, the bubble burst!

What??? You honestly think the kool-aid drinking liberals are going to believe their party was responsible?

Regardless of what good happens, the Democrat party sheeple will blame the Republicans and claim their party is the only ones that care and do good.
You know, like push amnesty for illegals, giving illegals green cards, refusing to guard the borders, preventing LE from protecting their citizens . . . on and on and on.

The democrats and the MSM are smart to have a longer view than the republicans. The democrats with illegal immigration are looking for demographic change in America to keep them in power. They know that eventually, the white vote will be marginalized, and they will be in power forever and spending Mr. White's money on Mr. Brown.
The republicans on the other hand are looking for viable, low skill employees who work and don't bitch.
Basically, the republicans want Mexican to work and not vote, and the democrats want Mexicans to vote and not work.
Bottom line, if you can't change America, change the people in it. Make them need you and they will be loyal to you.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

So you think reforming Fanny & Freddy would have stopped the toxic asset selling practices of the private banking world? Stopped CountryWide? Stopped Lehman from collapsing?
Congress did and does need to get their house in order, but the blame for our mess lies greatly on the shoddy, unethical practices of the private banking firms.Good job, friend-of-friends!

What happened was the great idea that "Everyone should have the opportunity to own a home".. that was, like most government ideas, a good and noble goal.
The problem is we are such a big country, it's hard to ferret out fraud, much less verify all necessary income documents. You have a computer program that says "if you have income of "X", then you qualify for a "Y" sized loan.
The loan was processed at the bank level, generating income for the banks, (and liquidity for the housing market), then sold to the feds (Fanny & Freddie) since it "meets their requirements for a home loan of "Y" dollars.".
And thus, you had dad's income + overtime, mom's income + overtime, Mikey's paper route, and Mary's lemonade stand, all included in "income" without documentation. So as a result, people were allowed to inflate their incomes to qualify for the loans.
Then the loans were bundled and packaged into institutional and "country sized" packages and sold for long term investments to retirement funds, mutual funds, and other nations looking for a save haven for their money.
Thus, the mortgage market was built on a foundation of sand. Or more accurately, built on tales of large income streams from applicants being allow to cheat to qualify for loans that were too large to support on just Mom & Dad's normal income.
When overtime was cut, and jobs were lost, and lemonade stopped selling, and the homeowners couldn't pay their mortgages and down came the house of cards.
There is plenty of blame to go around. I won't even go into second mortgages!Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

You're all blaming the puppets for their movements, even though they have no control of them. If you want to look at the root of all economic problems, look no further than the Fed. All mainstream politicians are the same, which is why I'm so ambivalent about the 2012 election. Nothing is going to change with Romney, and Obama will continue down the same road he's been blaming Bush for going down. No politician is worth looking at unless he's talking about the real issues - i.e. the Fed.

Talking without the commitment to take ACTION is the par for the course. These guys can say anything but ,always, seem to give a false hope that they will stand by their word.
When we have a "Do Nothing" (Guess. Starts with an "R" )party with the express purpose of unseating the "President" ( which wouldn't be a bad idea) and have no viable replacement ( who, IMO, would cause more harm to most of the population of our country) WTF are we supposed to do ????http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE9TN...eature=related
