First it was Tailhook, now it is Lackland. Another military sex scandal where a higher ranking member is under investigation for assaulting lower ranked enlisted. One Lackland Air Force Base instructor, now in the fourth day of his court martial, is accused of rape, sexual assault and sodomy with 10 trainees.

Belkin notes that the military training gives commanders almost unlimited authority over those they command and train, something he likens to the “master/slave dynamic.” The combination, often results in rape, he said.

Belkin's assessment is BS. These rapes were committed by NCOs in a training environment. The command has a whole lot to answer for, but the command structure is not a master/slave dynamic at all. The commander of the unit is probably guilty of not being sufficiently engaged with their unit. That is one reason I walk around all of the areas I am responsible for and usually tow a SNCO with we.

    Training environment ?????

Ask those young female sailors who wound up getting violated while at sea !! This is a service wide problem and I hope, in the future. that our lady soldiers and sailors blow away some of these perverts and set an example that might prevent this unbecoming behavior.
