Reid relishes role of attack dog

Reid relishes role of attack dog - The Hill - covering Congress, Politics, Political Campaigns and Capitol Hill | TheHill.com

Republicans are fuming over Reid’s rhetoric, which has been unusually harsh for a congressional leader. They say it is a breach of Senate decorum.

Independent political experts say Reid has pushed the envelope but note that Republicans deserve blame as well for escalating partisan tensions.

They'll never admit it, though. Just cry like spoiled brats.

This campaign is SO much more fun than the last one !!!! Too bad Miss Piggy doesn't show her skirts a little more often.

I miss her whimsical manner... Not to mention those legs...

Unlike Obama, who did release his birth certificate (with no visible effect on the agnotologic), Rmoney could counter Reid's attacks very simply by releasing his tax returns (as every other candidate for the last 40 years has). If he doesn't want to, there may be an innocent reason; but you have the right to draw your own conclusions.

I don't think there's any significant chance of his having broken any laws. But what he did legally may be very embarassing.

    Exactly !!!!!!!!!!

Ifin us , lowly, working class Smucks who, even with Willard's high dollar accountants, were to find out he "Legally" got off the hook for taxes that we HAVE to pay because of our tax brackets where there aren't ANY deductions available to us, the poll numbers would drop dramatically and they might as well choose
Anthony Weiner as their candidate !!

Let's assume for a second that Romney, using the tax system legally avoided paying taxes.

Where is that wrong? That just shows the need for tax reform.

How many of you have your taxes done? Do you ever ask the tax preparer to "add to my taxes because I want to pay my fair share".

If anything is shows tax reform is necessary, not Romney being a crook.

BTW, where are Harry's tax returns?
Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

As last week drew to a close, Harry Reid, the Senate’s Democratic majority leader, had backed up his claim that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for a 10-year period with absolutely nothing more than some vague reference to some unnamed guy who said something of the sort to Reid during some phone conversation some time ago.

That’s it. That’s all. But for Reid, it was enough not only to level his charge but also, as the days pressed on, to double and triple down on it, his language and manner growing more righteous even as his evidence grew no more detailed or persuasive.

    SNIP

Reid took a wholly legitimate source of concern — that Romney owes voters more candor and transparency than he has been willing to furnish — and undermined it by going too far and too farcical.

But then there’s plenty of overreaching tragicomedy to go around.

...Boehner turned his attention to President Obama and called him inept at creating jobs, he also said: “He’s never even had a real job, for God’s sake.” Thus he made his own journey over the top, facts falling by the wayside, his pants getting toasty, the noise grinding on and on.

Is Romney breaking election rules/laws by not providing the information in question?

I have to say if Romney is not breaking election laws or rules, then it is completely fair to demand reid show his tax returns that are not required by law or rules.

It's not McCarthyism when the charge can be refuted easily by producing a readily-available document.

    For comparison (courtesy James Wimberley):

wow Barak seems to pay less than me in Federal income tax rate. WTF???

But seriously, Is Mitt Romney legally obligated to supply said information? Prior to 2011?

If he is not legally obligated to do so then what is the point of this witch hunt?

Ok, lets see Obama's school transcripts. Yeah he may not be legally obligated to provide them but some people want to know.

I want to see the call log around the time that Barak Obama was writing dreams of my father. I want to know if he was talking to bill ayres at the time because his writing style is strikingly similar to Bill Ayres. Yeah he may not be obligated to do so but I am going to levy the unsubstantiated claim that Barak did now write his book.

That's his overall tax rate, not his top bracket. He also has a lot of charitable deductions; both his and Michelle's book royalties go to charity.

This is another attempt of the Obama campaign to deflect from the real issue, the economy. The last time the unemployment rate was this high was 1983.

how much does romeny give to charity?

With all Romneys Tax dodges and all Obamas tax dodges it appears as if there is only about a 5 % difference in total tax rate paid. interesting!
