violating town zoning regulations because their property was smaller than the 2 acres required to keep rabbits and other types of livestock.

My understanding is it has nothing to do with the size of the rabbit but the property they live on.

North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda said town officials are not trying to take the bunny away from the girl, but are instead trying to get Josh Lidsky to respond to neighbors' complaints about blighted conditions on his property.

In May, town officials inspected the property and asked Lidsky to take several actions, including removing the rabbit hutch, replacing missing siding on his house and repairing an unfinished addition.

Lidsky says he's appealing Hausman's order about the rabbit to the town's Zoning Board of Appeals, but he's willing to clean up his yard.

And now we get to the actual meat and potatoes, now he is willing to cooperate when someone lights a fire under his ass

Rules are rules.. There are 60 houses on my block... THANK GOD there aren't 27 boats in the driveways and 14 HUGE RV's in the street or worse...

Hm. My dad has a rabbit, with hutch, two gardens, two fish ponds, a turtle pond, a small greenhouse, two RVs, a beater truck, a lawn tractor, a Ford Tempo and various other flotsam and piles of firewood in her yard. It's amazing what you can get away with if you just put up a fence...

Zoning Enforcement Officer Arthur Hausman issued a cease-and-desist order to the Lidsky family two weeks ago, informing them that they were violating town zoning regulations because their property was smaller than the 2 acres required to keep rabbits and other types of livestock.

The town started it off with their Schutzstaffel tactics, IMO.

I stand by my opinion of the North Haven Gestapo !!!
