I didn't realize Brooks had any comedic chops. Wow.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

He's actually a very clever -- even brilliant -- writer, which is one of the reasons I generally find him so annoying.
He's perfected a trick of seeming like a perfectly reasonable person, and his columns almost always start that way before taking a nosedive into wild conjecture and self-contradiction; but by then his readers are already nodding in agreement and don't notice that he's changed directions completely. In judging a two-person singing contest, never award the prize to the second soprano having heard only the first.

Just tell the boys in the Beltway they "have nothing to fear, but fear itself".
I can't believe the liberal media is going quite so nuts!Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

David Brooks is a member of the "liberal media"?
Yes, I do need that one explained. Sounds more like Chuck didn't have anything to say, so he just mouthed off with his standard BS.Good job, friend-of-friends!

The MSM doing on a larger scale the same thing happening on this board. One innuendo after another, a whisper campaigning here and there, followed by vaporous accusations.
Fine. I know how the game is played.
To put it in "Theo-ese" "David Brooks is an idiot and no one should believe a word he says!"
At least I know a satire when I see one:
Good thing it wasn't by Ann Coulter!Mitt Romney was born on March 12, 1947, in Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Virginia and several other swing states. He emerged, hair first, believing in America, and especially its national parks. He was given the name Mitt, after the Roman god of mutual funds, and launched into the world with the lofty expectation that he would someday become the Arrow shirt man.
Chill.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

Chuckiechan, your ability to fail to understand the obvious is charming in its way.
(Brooks, by the way, is doing his usual trick here. He's caricaturing Romney in so over-the-top fashion that he can have it both ways: Please the liberals, and have the conservatives claim he's actually satirizing them.)Last edited by Theophylact; August 28th, 2012 at 02:07 PM.
