September 13th, 2012, 07:00 PM #2Mr President: PLEASE do not to SEND any of my money out of our country. There are too many needs here at home and it will be much more appreciated. The Obama administration was already wary of Mr. Morsi's Islamist government, and his tepid response after the attacks is giving them new cause for concern. Mr. Morsi waited a full day before issuing a mild rebuke to the rioters on Facebook while the movement that brought him to power, the Muslim Brotherhood, called for a second day of protests against the anti-Islam film that sparked the protests.
We should stop being SUCKERS and let them see what life is like WITHOUT being coddled. Then, maybe, our help will be accepted in the proper perspective.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE9TN...eature=related

I've been saying that for years pickel . . . but, some of the members here are for sending even more money to help in different medical programs, defense and security assistance programs, humanitarian programs, etc.
You know who they are . . . Theo, tony, MTA, brandon, pickel, Chuckie, Taxman, . . .
Some of them even claim we don't donate or give enough and that we should increase what we give . . .

Just got done watching O'reilly. He has what is called the factor tip of the day. He said that if you want to show Egypt that you don't support their actions there, simply don't visit the country. He also said that (I think it was) US air to stop flying there.

Your name is on the list for your support of funding for the security and defense for other countries Taxman . . . I'm implied as well, as I support funding for security and defense of some foreign countries . . . like Israel, Turkey, etc.

I DO agree with you on removing those funds/equipment/supplies (to include medicine's/medical) that is/was destined for Egypt.

No, because I'm intelligent enough to know and understand the big picture and who will cover our back when the sheet hits the fan. I would prefer supplying the arms and equipment, along with the training, then get our troops out of harms way. I would rather have Israel deal with the nuclear problem in Iran, than risk American pilots, ships, and personnel, doing it. If Israel can't handle it on it's own, Turkey will be their to help, as will a number of other countries.
Isolationism is a great concept, but will cause failure in any country that pushes it. North Korea is a prime example. They've forced themselves into isolation and how many have died? Where is their economy? Their technological base? Is this what you envision for the U.S. Taxman?

Much of foreign aid is really money to buy American products and services. The aide to Egypt was entirely that. Call it what you will but the money returned home via U.S. defense and security companies and not going to fund the Brotherhood.

Having lived in S. Korea I have a little insight, mainly from talking to GI's that man the DMZ and sometimes will talk to their N.Korean counterparts. (Although that is rare)
I even was IN North Korea one night in a jeep with one brake and I had a Spec 4 and MY WIFE with me. I was delivering and installing a very sophisticated tracker module for the HAWK missile system. The gate they opened went under a huge concrete structure with a concrete slab on top that must have weighed 10?, 15? tons. Those are everywhere when you get farther North on the few roads there are. They are meant to be dynamited in the event of an incursion from the North or South to close the roads. Either side of the pillars have tons of mines and Claymores (horrible, nasty weapon).
But, to the point. Use Google Earth for a shot of both North and South Korea at night. There are NO lights in North Korea because there AREN'T any. They are all starving and yes, they raise dogs and cats to eat them. Dogs are mainly eaten in a soup called "Boshintang". It is first seasoned with an herb called Agastache rugosa to remove the stench of dog meat. Funny, they don't eat white dogs so we had a white dog while we were there. Cat meat was called "pulkogi" in our village and again, oddly, white cats were preferable. They believe that soup made from cat is a cure for neuralgia and arthritis.
This is a very famous photograph from space of Korea at night:

That one blip in the North is the capital city of Pyongyang. The rest of the country lives in utter darkness and by day, complete repression.

One of the reasons we have to be careful with Egypt, it that they are on Israel's longest and most peaceful border, and are a signatory of the Camp David peace accords with Israel. In the past they have been pretty good actors with Mubaric keeping the crazies in line.
Cutting of aid can be a good threat, but why should we? It's the only leverage we have, and the situation of who is or will be running Eqypt is fluid at best.
I'm not so sure Egypt or Libya for that matter is a "throw a way" case just yet. We don't need to let Iran make any more friends.
We have pretty well blow it in Syria. Syria is Iran's #1 buddy, and was a conduit for Iran's armaments to Hezbollah in Lebanon. If we can "turn" Syria, we will have something to brag about.
But the last thing we need is expanding Iranian influence through proxies such as Hezbollah or Al Qaeda, or versions of them.
Herder, you are entitled to your opinion, but I think you are being mercurial and short sighted.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

Giving them more aids , plus looking and feeling guilty from a movie , forgetting the freedom of speech and expression , forgetting the principles of Human right to express himself and his opinions without any restrictions or pressure , will only leave the free world a hostage to an extremist ideologies ... Ideologies who want to dictate and change your way of life and thinking ...
No one should forget that when dealing with the Freedom principles !!! What's next ? ... Dictate how should we wear also ? ...If their religion is not to discuss , then let them declare it hidden and enroll it in a close box where no one could discuss it .

I asked my uncle on Facebook who is from Egypt if we should stop funding them and he said yes it doesn't go to the poor anyway. Keep in mind my uncle is not Muslim but a Christan.
