Hospital Employees’ Jobs In Jeopardy If They Don’t Get Flu Shot
Hospital Employees’ Jobs In Jeopardy If They Don’t Get Flu Shot « CBS DenverHospital employees across Colorado are being threatened with their jobs if they don’t get the flu shot by the end of the year.
This requirement is being implemented now even though the State of Colorado only requires more than half of all employees to receive the vaccination. The mandate for all employees doesn’t take effect for several years.
My mom and sister work in a health care facility and they are pissed. One person at their work got the flu shot and was in the hospital. This was ten years ago and she has no proof now to say she can't take the flu shoot. Plus there was a lady that got the flu shoot and ended up in a wheel chair. What about the other vector, the visitor vector? Then my mom has heard of countless cases where one has gotten the stupid flu shot and they still got sick. Their answer it was a different strain.

On the other hand - HUGE amounts of people come out of the hospital a LOT worse then when they went in due to the crap they picked up IN the hospital.
Now what do we do?Last edited by Steve R Jones; October 6th, 2012 at 05:14 AM.

Feh. Marcia volunteers at a hospice in DC, and she not only has to have an annual flu shot (and a one-time pneumonia vaccine), she also has to take an annual drug test.
Seasonal flu deaths in the US kill an estimated average of 36,000 people a year. That's in the same range as gun deaths and auto deaths.
I had my (free) flu shot on Thursday at the office.
More info about the shot from CDC.Last edited by Theophylact; October 6th, 2012 at 07:53 AM. Reason: additional info and link

You would have to be insane to work in a hospital and not protect yourself with immunizations.
Even if you only get ill, someone has to replace you while you are gone and someone has to pay sick leave.
Get the shot, or get another job.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

You would also have to be insane to run a hospital and not try to protect patients and staff from infected employees. Just think of the malpractice suits.

Got my annual Flu shot notice from the VA Clinic last week . . .
No one there is willing to give it to me though.
Seems my medical records show too many incidences of violence around needles.
Maybe, someday . . .

The last time I puked was when I was drunk, not from the flu. The last time I had the flu was when I was maybe 9 or 10. I just don't get sick. I don't Handel cash all that often sense I primarily use a debt card and I actually wash my hands after I give it a few shakes. Imagine that!

My mom knows a lady that works with her and ten years ago she got the flu shot and it put her in the hospital for respiratory problems. She was in the hospital for three days. She doesn't know what she's gonna do now. They said the facility will lose a lot of good people because they are not getting the flu shot and I don't blame them. I once had the flu shot back in '99 in Job Corp and that night I had a splitting head ache. NEVER AGAIN!

Tax, you are just lucky. You aren't special, just lucky. The flu shots are a preventative measure so A-you don't get the flu, and B-you won't spread it around while you are still feeling OK to go to the mall.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid...
