HOW MUCH IS GAS!!
Excuse me if I type in caps because I am very angry, and I do feel like yelling.
WHY IN THE WORLD is gas costing so much!!! So !*!&!^!#ing much! I'm 17, and luckily I have a job, but I am supposed to be saving money, not wasting it ALL of gas!!
I'm still driving my "first car" so it doesn't get great gas milage. I mean, maybe 20 MPG. I'M WASTING SO MUCH MONEY ON DARN GAS!!! I simply can't believe how much it is now!!
I asked my dad, just me dad, not my grandpa, or greatgrandpa, how much he remembers paying for gas, and he remembers it under a $1!!! HOW HAS IT ROSE SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Remember, I still haven't told you were I live, or how much I am paying. You may think taht your $1.25 is OUTRAGEOUS! Wait to you hear my cost.
They blame it on oil thingies blowing up, and the war on Iraq, and more oil thingies blowing up, and terrorist threats on thingies. I say it's LIES! HOW are we SO DEPENDANT on this substance???????
MAKE WATER-fueled cars or soemthing!! This is insane, it's a momopoly, the gas companies know this, and they are COMPLETELY RIPPING US OFF!
I live in central California.
Okay.... today I payed $2.16 and 9/10ths a penny per gallon for my gas.

Just paid 2.50 per gallon in the bay area for 91. Regular here is about 2.15-2.30, depending on the station and which city exactly it's in. Lowest I've seen in my area is about 2.10 for regular. Unfortunately, I'll only put premium in my car.
And my car, which I don't drive all the time mind you, only gets MAYBE 6 MPG on the freeway. It's a damn HOG. But I have my company provided work van for the weeks, and I avoid driving my car on the weekend if at all possible. I MAYBE take it out for errands 2-4 times a month. MAYBE.Last edited by beppodmime; August 31st, 2003 at 02:55 AM.

Wow, you pay lots for bottled water? I buy something like a Coke then fill it with water after all the Coke is gone.

1.55 a gallon here in middle USA.I have never bought gas for less than a buck,or paid more than 2, so I see that it is pretty stable pricing although it may vary .50 either way.
Seems that the holidays have a increasing effect on prices for some reason
and Bottled water tastes like plastic,YUK
The impossible takes more time, and costs more money.

If I drive out west to manassas (10 mins away) usually its about 1.45.. the farther you go into towards the beltway the higher it gets

Manassas, VA 1.45
My area 5-10 mins east.. 1.55-1.65
stupid!
(assumed prices, I haven't seen prices this week yet)Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them.

August 31st, 2003, 04:10 AM #15yes i think that should be per liter price. wich seems a lil low from what my friend who just got back said, but as we all can see over here in the states we don't have much to complain about as gas in normally about 4x higher. if i got this right it would be about 4.80- 5 and change per gallonOriginally posted by Mike

I was pretty sure that's what he meant RicheemxX.
Well if prices got that high here, there would be a mutiny.

I think at that point they'd just put a huge spigot right in alaska and invite all the oil companies over for an oil feast

Up here in Alberta we pay 79.9 cents per litre now or $3.02 per gallon.
That works out to about $2.18USD per gallon.

Paid 2.179 yesterday.
The oil companies have us by the "proverbial short spark plug wires" here in Kalifornistan.
My first job at a gas station ('69 or '70 I think) in Maryland the price was 28.9. $4.60 to fill up my Mustang. Cigs were .30 @ pack. Now it's about 0.25 @ cig. At least gas hasn't gone up as much as ciggies.
According to my math (which often is remiss) we'd be paying somewhere around $4.80 @ gallon based on the price increase % in ciggies.
Ran into a gas war in Kansas or Oklahoma in '70 or '71 and the price was 19.9. $3.00 to fill up. Those were the days.
