Problem running UD
Hi everyone. I just joined the team a few days ago and all has been well until now. I run the UD agent anytime I can (about 16 hours a day). When I do run it, I dedicate all processing power to it, nothing else running. It uses 99% cpu utililzation.
But lately, I haved noticed a wu's progress slow down, WAY down. What was normally taking a cancer WU about 5 hours to complete, is now taking MUCH longer.
I did some investigating and opened my task manager and lo and behold I see that ud_ligfit_Release process is utilizing 0% cpu usage. Something called System Idle Process is hogging all the cpu - 99% of it.
Why is this? I have not changed a single thing on my system. I'm using XP Pro SP1.
Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to devote all my processing power for this cause.
I searched the Grid.org forums but couldn't find a solution there.
Also, I'm running a Athlon XP2500 @2.5 ghz and a WU is taking about 5 hours to complete. It's telling me I'm averaging about 32.32 points per hour. Is this good or should I tweak some more?
Thanks in advance.

Just found out that a reboot fixes the problem - at least for now. I'm still concerned that when I leave the computer for the day that this same problem might continue to happen. Can't turn in any results like this. Again, any suggestion would be most helpful.

Maybe you are using something that takes the cpu power and UD doesn't take it back!
For example, if you don't turn off UD and start playing a game, the game WILL take all of the CPU Proccessing power leaving UD with 0%. Now, when you go out of the game, maybe UD is not detecting that you went out of the game and stays at 0% giving all CPU power to the Idle System Proccess.
Try turning off or disabling UD and then enabling UD instead of a reboot.
Also, try turning off or disabling UD if you are going to run a CPU-intensive application. When you are done with the application, turn UD back ON again.!
This COULD help... I don't know!
boo!
