First off if we can some help it would be greatly appreciated.
Second, I'm running the text version only now, and I want to know, is there any way to get it off the taskbar (run as service) or run without creating an item on the taskbar (run it invisible) |

Wizz,
This link should help. Lots of guys use it on the Folding@HOme forum but stopped using it cuz I could not be sure what is going on with client unless I run the console. I do run it on GAH.
Hope this help. http://www.firedaemon.com

Wizz,
How is that firedaemon program coming along? Since my cable connection I think has been fixed. Have not have any disconnection in the last three days, I started running FAH as a services. So far so good, kind of miss the console.
No problem with GAH as a service, been running it for a week or so.

hey engracio.. there is another called invoker.. lets u install just about anything as a service in 2k and xp.. Doc Hopper posted it for ppl using UD.. but I use it for UD and folding.. and I don't loose the console window for Folding.. b/c u have an option to running as a service with, or without tray icon.. UD as a service

np.. =) what is also nice about running as a service.. under the properties of the service.. under Computer Management.. u can set how u want the service ran .. I have foldding running on my dual system.. along with D2OL, and UD.. they all seem to work great with each other.. without slown down none of them.. well any way.. either UD.. or D2OL.. my guess D2OL.. were causing Folding to crash out.. the icon would stay in the tray.. unless you moved your mouse over it.. then it would vanish.. meaning it had crashed at some point.. well I fixed this by setting under the properties to have windows restart the service should it crash. and now I don't have to worry about checking Folding anymore.. =) |

Daft, Thanks for the link, but I'll just use firedaemon, works perfect for what I need, (have to install it on other PC) I'm using folding monitor so there is no need for console, also the other machine I don't have to worry about someone quitting the program =]
Engracio, Congrats on getting into the top 100 users, I'll be right there =] |
