[UD]<-Monitor Problem???

I DL and installed UD Monitor 1.7.4a on both my PCs. 1 PC finished a WU and after running the second WU for several hrs I decided I would send the first completed WU,everything went fine.

2nd PC I tried the same thing just a few mins after the first had sent/received and it tells me it's connecting/sending/receiving from the UD server, but after all bites are received it says "Unable to connect to UD server"? I have tried all day to DL/UL this WU? All my "cache" slots are listed at UD. The only thing I see that is incorrect, is the WU is labeled "Anthrax" and not "RAF"?
Any ideas how to fix this or do I have to dump the WU and start over?

maybe there is a problem with the new version.. and Anthrax.. I'm still running the old 1.6.5a version.. as the saying goes.. if it isn't broke don't fix it =)

I don't knwo what to tell u.. other then.. delete the cache slot.. and add another one back in.. and see if it fixes the problem.. I had a problem where I couldn't get a certian cache slot to engage.. so I dumped it.. and added a cache slot back in its place. and it fixed it ..

I am using UD Monitor 1.7.4.a on my three PC's and I haven't had this prob. I opted out of Anthrax as I think it's a waste of time to cure cow diseases whne we still get cancer.

Maybe PM Phenious and ask for suggestions?

Sure OC..

Ud Mon.. is non UD produced program.. in other words.. someone like you and me made this tool.. Its purpose is to.. one.. check the last time a WU saved.. and two.. allow you to cache more WU on your system.. to cache.. I mean to have a slot.. or a space on your system, that UD Mon uses, to store more WU(Work Units) So you don't have to be conected to the net at all times. This is good for ppl who can't be there 24/7 to connect.. or so fother.. When UD finish a WU.. Ud Mon shuts down the UD agent.. and then starts another instance.. another copy of the UD agent.. that is kept with the stored WU on your syste.. that way nothing gets corrupted.. and everything works fine..

Say you wanted 5 cache slots.. Under your UD folder you would have 5 sub folders that UD Mon would create..

0, 1, 2, 3, 4

under each of these folder.. there would be one copy of the UD.exe, and any files that the UD.exe will need to run.. there will also be one WU under there as well.. what UD Mon does.. is run the UD.exe in folder 0.. and when the WU is finished.. UD Mon closes down the UD.exe in folder 0, and moves on to Folder 1, and starts the UD.exe there..

Make sense?

point is to keep your agent working while u r away.. and untill u can get home to upload the finished work.. and get more WU..

I just installed UD Monitor yesterday. The only Anthrax WU I did was on 1/30 and that’s what did not make since when UD Mon.. said I was working on Anthrax but the agent said it was RAF???? Oh, well. I will run a back up I did on that slot earlier today and let it finish. If then it still won't send/receive I'll dump the slot and try again........

I think some people have had a problem with the new one.
I did, but just dumped it and never bothered to figure out why, I'm planning on trying it again next week.
