    [UD] New Cow likes Celery

Well, my newest cow aint pretty, but she's running. Here's the specs:

300a Celery i got in a trade for my old DSL modem
    Micro-Atx board from same trade
    256mb of RAM
old case frame, no sides, front or rear...good airflow though

With a little tape on pin B21, the chip does 450, but I hate to do it till I get a better heatsink.

That brings me up to 5 in the herd.

Amazing how these things just keep multiplying.

Dan, if she's got the stock Intel retail heatsink and fan, she'll do just fine at 450. Ran mine just about forever full-tilt at 464, even up to 504 for occasions when I needed the extra grunt. Temperature was never a problem.

Those 300A's were amazing. On a "percentage of stock rated speed" basis, they were the greatest overclockers of all time. I still have mine. Thinking about getting it bronzed

Doggone it, Surreal, stop it! here I am, bragging about my prize-winning 300 Celery Cow, and you gotta mention motherboards and cases. That's all I lack for another cow, based on that Celery!

Well, there IS the small matter of real estate...30 something guitars, 10 amps, 5 keyboards, PA and lighting rigs, 9 computers...oh, and a family....

BUT, as a Formerly Deranged Bovine, I'll figger something out

    Surreal, snicker thee not m'dear

Let's not forget that I somehow have shoehorned a full-bore recording studio into this cozy half-duplex, and one of the products of that shoehorn job, and a requirement for any recording studio is, (you guessed it), a pile of 19" EIA rack mount cases, towers, boxes, etc.

I'm presently keeping an eye peeled for rackmount ATX server cases on the cheap. Computer Geeks gets 'em once in a while, but they never seem to have them on the cheap at the same time that I've got money

Good news is, one of the largest independent computer shows/geek flea markets in the world is staged by our little local Computer Users Group, and it's coming up in 3 weeks. MWAH-HAH-HAH!!!

Hey Surreal, about that new avatar... Looks like the product of an illicit liason between Betty Boop and Yoda....which (does his best Yoda voice) a bad thing this may not be, hmmmm?
