Team 2037
Yay I just joined Fad 5 minutes ago. Joined in 2037 and very proud of myself (I hope I have reason to). Is there anything important I should know aboud Fad and THINK?

Welcome to the team!

Assuming you read the info thread, there is not much more to know about FAD and THINK, at least from the software perspective.
BTW, I am moving this thread to the DC forum.

you may all want to know the beta fad 2.30a has been scheduled for release this tuesday may 3'rd
can't wait to see what it's gonna look like! If you'd like to participate in the beta, fun fadsetup (right click the icon and click setup) go to the last tab (forget the name) where you pick all the jobs you want to run and check off beta. Tuesday when the beta is released on your next job upload you will be updates automatically. It's about a 2 min download on a broadband connection

No thanks, NO BETA FOR ME !!! I have got it firmly unchecked, and I would recommend everybody else (except Vikeor) to do the same...

I have been participating in the beta program since joining FAD. There have only been a couple of beta releases in my time, but both proved perfectly stable for me. I suggest not using beta releases in remote locations, but I see little problem with giving it a try on a single locally administrated system. How else are software bugs going to be found and resolved?

April 28th, 2005, 11:51 AM #14I would hazard a wild guess that there have been about 50 beta releases over the past few years, and some of them have caused enough problems for me not to wish them on myself, nor on other non-techies, and certainly NOT on people who are new to FaD. Just read some of the threads in the Beta Forum:

Software bugs IMHO are best found and resolved by people who know what they are doing and who are already familiar with the programme...
I stand by my recommendation!!! Oddly enough - very oddly enough - I think Sharder agrees with me on this....
I don't think he runs Beta either.
