Make sure you get permissions from Scott & Co. before using the TIMO name.

Hmm. The best independent information I have been able to find about the DIMES project - and it wasn't an easy search - was this: http://ica.cordis.lu/search/index.cf...TOKEN=86901867
It appears DIMES is looking at 2025. I also googled the project coordinator, Professor Scott Kirkpatrick, and found him http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/~kirk/.
I skimmed through his latest paper/presentation, "Jellyfish and Other Interesting Creatures of the Internet" (!). http://www.cs.huji.ac.il/~kirk/Jellyfish_Dimes.ppt. That link is a Powerpoint presentation, so not surprisingly, I did not understand very much...
But he's only the Coordinator. Haven't had time to look at the leading project staff.

I did see a map of the network mapped so far, and some of the results look promising, and they do seem to have a legitimate idea worthy of the DC realm. Any word on wether this will interfere with FaD much?
How do I contact someone to see if it is okay if we start a TIMO team? |

Looking over the site, seems like an interesting idea
Is it looking just at the ISPS or all the way to the end users?
My concern is even if say you complete this project in a day (just an example) you would have to start all over again cause people and ISPs are always adding on and taking off everyday.
Plus some sites are set to not respond to a ping request. So some stuff wont get mapped out |

But it will still give us a fairly accurate representation, won't it? |
