    Arrow [FaDChatThu03]Second Day After

    If we can count up to 45 or thereabouts it looks as though we should not have any difficulties finding suitable thread titles between now and 16 December!!!

    What gives?

    Good morning, Mr. Toes.
    And how are you today?
    How would I count to more than twenty, and how would I stop the smell from my feet from overpowering me when I count to more than ten?

    Depends on which part of you contains your brains. Don't send the intelligent part to work, as it is - in most cases - a major waste of resources.

    I should be giving rosetta a spin later today. Right now, F@H seems to be playing nice . . . . I am on frame 340/500.

    A program called "Fahmon" + the "No Frills" F@H client seems to provide a very nice interface similar to what we had with FaD. For those of you who want a network client/queue server, Fahmon can do that too. You still have to install F@H on each machine, but you can monitor them all from one window a la FaD Queue server.

    Besides Rosetta, are there any other requests for a project for me to try . . . I will review more if you guys(and girls) want.

    Dude, can you give Predictor at BOINC a whirl?

    FWIW my own thoughts right now are that I shall initially split my machines up between:

    Folding@home;

    Rosetta at BOINC with Predictor as a second project;

    and thirdly, allowing the homicidal aronist side of me full reign, D2OL which as far as administration and support is concerned appears to be the worst DC project out there, even though it's hosted by TSC, The Rothberg Institute for Childhood Diseases.

    I have made the following lack of progress. With FaH I'm gonna have to find a new crunching nick since there is already a Twinkletoes there. Not such a nice bright handsome intelligent one as me, but even so. Do my Honourable Teammates have any suggestions for a suitable crunching nick??? (Meese and Sharder need not apply)

    With Rosetta there have been problems with the server and I've got to wait another 4 hours or so before I can try to download a work unit. (I can't get Predictor running either, possibly it's a related problem.)

    At D2OL...well the less said the better so far...I'm still trying to register there!

    And that completes the voting of the Welsh jury.

    I know that the Beos Team Captain, a madman called Necronomicon, is planning to give D2OL a shot, because the idiot has persuaded me to do likewise. (D2OL does not have - when it's running - anything like the same system requirements as Folding@home and the BOINC projects.) Whether the other people at Beos are silly enough to follow him, I don't know...
