I'm having trouble compiling the newest Statsaholic version of ECCp on my Linux box(Mandrake 8.2). I type make x86lCL and get the following error "make: *** No rule to make target `asm/x86_att/inv_p109.S', needed by `eccp109ls'. Stop."
Anyone know what might be the cause of this?
Thanks |

Sorry I can't help. I do know several here run Linux and will be able to help. You could try PM'ing "Spook Eddy" as I know he is up on that Linux....
<edit for a brain fa*t> Do a search in this forum, if I recall someone posted how to set up Linux a while back....

| Actually, he's at Anandtech.
I think we have a couple of folks (Skuz and EvilRick, maybe?) who run it in Linux. Hopefully they'll be along soon.
FYI: You'd probably have better luck if you indicated it was a Linux related question in the subject.
Best of luck....I'm sure someone will come along before too long! I know squat about Linux. |

I'll download the statsaholic source and have a look at it. I don't know what extras Virus added in, but if you can do without those, you can download my client.
If Ken_g6's source was just 'stuck in' there, then I have a good idea what's wrong. I had to make some minor changes to get client to compile on linux.
Anyway, I'll be back later.... |

I run the linux client but I have never used the source and compiled it to get the executable, I always use the binary!

Praetorian, I believe that hav0c is trying to build with the latest source code on statsaholic, not trying to get the last linux binary version posted.
I looked at the source code, and here are a few comments:
1) That source code does not have the latest ASM code from Ken_g6. The version I posted does.
2) The difficulties you are running into while trying to compile are what I expected. The files in asm/x86_att don't match with those in the Makefile. It is a problem with the case of the extensions. To make everything consistent, I use the '.S' extension for the assembly files.
Another problem I ran into is that the source uses CLK_TCK to determine iterations per second. I found that in my linux system that value was 1000x too low, so I changed back to the way that Chris had done it before.
3) There are some extras that Virus put in like running in quiet mode, setting the send interval, run time, etc. If you really need these features, then you will have to add them yourself. The easiest thing to try would be to use the source that I modified and put in the statsaholic inter/x86lCL/eccp109-x86lCL.c. I haven't tried this, and probably won't since I am packing for a move across the country.
So, there you have it. |
