so I have no idea what I did or how I did it, but I downloaded, the client ver6 of F@H and it's running, so now it's running on 2 cores,
but I have to keep this on my toolbar or keep it open to have it running,

Yes that is the console only box which must be kept open or the fah client closes. Were you able to run your quadie using the smp yet?
I don't think they got the smp client running as a service completely debug yet. So right now you must keep a shortcut on the start up to run the smp client.

DRAT! My Buddy at work thought he had a router for me. He thought wrong. now I will have to wait until payday to get one. Not like the old PIII server will add a whole lot, but 2 more 1 GHZ cpus is 2 more 1 GHZ cpus.

it's running on 1 core only, I installed SP1 and it screwed the whole thing up, before I could just run F@H 3 times to run it on 3 cores,
now it will only run 1, if I try to start it again it runs for like 10 seconds and just shutsdown,
so I got this client running on 1 core to, but it will not run 2 at once, so again i'm stuck with 2 cores running now,
F@H's FAQS are really kind of hard to follow when you don't know what the names of things are, they keep talking about something and I keep saying to myself, what the hell is that, |

Dave and 2, I'm in the process now of figuring out how to install the SMP client with in VMware, under ubuntu of course. From what I've read, if you have a 64bit CPU, then it's supposed to crunch nearly 2x as much as the M$ SMP client.
We'll see. If I get it going, I'll let you know how I did it.
@2
I can't believe they put that up again last night. What the hell is going on at Egg?
Disgruntled employee maybe?  |
