If you read up on the smp client 5.92 installation howto, you'll see that it uses all 4 cores with just one console and I normally name it as machine id 4 in case I install the non smp client and forgot I have been using ID 1 and 2.

E-man, how many systems do you have folding?
I'm just curious to see how many it takes to rack up points like you have been..

Woosh! Thats the sound of air over my head. So I can install the SMP client onto my sneakernet transfer device, and even though my internet compy is a 3200+, i can get SMP WU's on that? Or will I still need to run 4 instances of the client and each with a diff WU? If I do that, I will also need to have a machine ID for my upstairs, making 5 machine ids. I can set it up fine if I give it the time(like I will tonight) but if I can get SMP WU's travelling fine over a sneakernet that would be ideal.

Man I hate looking at the Radar screen in my Stats. Looks like I'm going to be run over by a Rainbow. 2-3 people every ten days.

dude a few issues with your sneakernet. First I am not sure if your xp3200 would be able to download an smp wu. I know if you have a dual core cpu you would be able to but not a single core.

If you cannot download a smp client wu then you would need to run on three or four folder separate fah504-console clients with each having different machine id's and sneakernet it to the quaddie.

Yeah thats what I thought. Ill just sneakernet 4 wus to the basement lair. Im going to build a directional wifi antenna and see if I can ge some wifi signal from my neighbor or from somewhere else. But I need to get started now. Im such a slacker. I wouldnt be suprised if you all vote me off the team for being a slacker(not a SLACR since those are good).

Wouldnt running 1 smp wu on all 4 cores be better than running 4 instances?
