What (or Who) Is Daylight-Saving Time Saving?
I know we have discussed this earlier in a different thread, but here is so more information on daylight savings time. Is it actually worth it, or not?

When I was living in Hawaii we never had to do the time change and I loved it.
I loving going backwards, but that whole going forwards thing is a bitch. Plus i hate coming outside my office and 5 and its already getting dark. That annoys me.
A lot of time was wasted on my part right before the change to update all our servers with the new time change, and now they did a study saying it didn't save any energy. Here is a solution. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS AT NIGHT IN THE GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS! There is no reason to have them lit up like Christmas at night.

funny waste of power.
In the HRBT, MMBT ... they have the lights turned on in the opposite direction indicating you are traveling the wrong direction. Dozens and dozens of 100 watt lights turned on 24/7. This may seem logical but if you make it that far you are not looking at lights.
government buildings. parking lot lights after the store is closed. cops parked at the side of the road watching for a 3 am U-turn at an intersection where no hazzard is posed by the activity at that time (just because he knows the light is annoying and will yield tickets)
PS I would leave thing on daylight savings and never return. I like getting home while it is still light. So fall back and never return.

Why the hell do all those lights need to be on?
Something else that pisses me off...offices/buildings that have lights on during a sunny day. If you have windows, open the blinds and turn off the lights...jeez. More buildings should be built with skylights.

I don't have much office experience, but the one I have worked had windows on two sides...on a sunny enough day, the lights could be shut off and the sun would provide enough light - after all, computer monitors don't need ambient light to work.
The classrooms that have windows are what I'm thinking about. Plenty of sunlight coming in, yet every fluorescent light is on. Stupid, if you ask me.

I heard that it's actually more expensive energy wise to have daylight savings time, but I don't know where my mom heard it...

At least the subject got it right, Daylight Saving Time.
Not savings, since we all know there aren't any.

The government did another study on the effect of day light savings time, and the results should be out in a few months.

I would argue that I'd rather have a more competitive corporate tax rate in exchange for a more progressive personal income tax with many more brackets to more evenly spread the onus. Businesses do...
Who Pays Corporate Income Taxes ?
