I'm currently (ranked...?) 109 on the Team Member list....
I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...

Hi dave!

I did some more testing on my OC. It's 100% stable at 3.46Ghz.
Temps are tolerable, but a little warmer then what I've been getting last day or so.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Dave make sure you lap the new heat sink. Even with Heat sinks that appeared to be lapped. then take the time to polish it to a mirror finish. Dremels make that quick and easy.
When it comes to Thermal compound less is more. 95% of the people use way to much. If it might have been thick it was thick. The extra compound actually acts as an insulator and traps heat.
scroll down to "Applying Arctic Silver 5:" at this link and look at how little they say to use. (and I'm still using to much myself. lol)

KK,
Thanks for the heads up. I realized that when I saw the v droop myself. On any case I have brought it back down to 9x385=3465. When I had it at 9x389=3501 and 1.415 cpu volt the temp was hovering around 71c and it ventually kick off my bios alarm at 75c.
Dropped the cpu voltage 2 notches on this mobo to 1.375 and also dropped fsb to 385. Current temp now while running prime95 since I don't want to lose a wu on 76 step is 60-67c. Much better temp.
I'll mess with it and see what is the lowest stable cpu voltage I can run this box without rebooting or FAH wu error.

What happen to mrniceguy? Looks like he'll catch up with ps3 before I catch no1vern
I think he put a cow or two within the last month and really cranked it up. No1vern on the other hand is not going to lay down and put another box online I think.
No matter as mr lips have said, Time is on my side yes it is.

I got the quad cow in but my trend line is on the downswing atm, unfortunately on my gaming machine I've been having lockups so F@h is off it for the moment.

KK,
On your new open box mobo did you get lucky and got some peripherals instead of just a mobo. I wish they would send the backplate at least. i have a couple asrock 775 dualvsta which does have a backplate. It still works.

Hi all.
Yes, I was one of the lucky customers that got the full retail package with my open box board. I think the only thing missing is a USB PCI slot bracket, but with 6 USB's on the back of the board, and 2 on my case, I have more then enough.
But I will say I've ordered 3, well now 4 open box boards, and only 2 have them have come with everything. The others didn't even have the I/O shield, or drivers CD's, manuals, nothing but the board..

If they do, it won't be much, they're already low as it is. 660 was $225 or so when it first came out, 660 Ti was $300 or so, and 7870's were about $250-300 when new. If anything, the prices may...
