Well, other then having to buy DDR ram instead of the cheaper DDR2, it is a good deal IMO. Perfect for the home server/folding box...
Hi Dave! Coffee ready yet? |

And really dave, I'd put our Q6600's up against the new line anyday. They are OC beast compared to the Q9xxx line..
And the GPU is a big waste of money IMO also. But again, IMO.. | I don't game so I have no idea about whats better as far as FPS, the sales guy games allot so he was helping him with the video, he went for the Q9xxx because it had a 1333 FSB and 12MB cache,
he has never OC'd (didn't even know what it was) I clocked it to 3.0 temp was at 45c so thats good enough he won't know what to do about watching
the temps and stuff so I didn't try to push it to far,
his Buddy had a copy of xp he loaded he was going to get vista, but a program they use for recording is not compatible with vista so had to go with xp,
he has a sound booth in his basement so he uses some recording and mixing program,
his Buddy has about 20 product keys for xp OEM he said he got from school he works at, they bought all new computers and used their xp license so they told him he could have all the keys that are on the new computer cases, they would never use them, so he wrote them all down,

Hmm.. It's a nice system, don't get me wrong. But I think very highly of the Q6600's, in case you haven't noticed...
Now did you sneak the SMP client on the CPU? |

Most of the systems I've been building for people lately I've been putting it on there. I do explain to them what it is and all, and tell them they are basically donating their PC when they're not using it.
So far, all my friends have gone for it..
(I got the making of a AMDx2 box on the desk ATM(sisters), and another build that's supposed to be here Wed. that's a E8400 setup(friends)) |
