Can I Run F@H offline?!?

Let me explain a bit.
I can use my station at work since I'm the only one who uses it and I'm usually always there (and I'm always logged in) but we have a different method to get online.

Whenever we start I.E., the browser uses an automatic configuration script which then accesses another list (I guess of servers?!?) and connects... now... it doesn't end there!
Once IE opens it asks me for a username and password...

as you can probably guess, the F@H client is not connecting (since I guess it TRIES to connect but to go online it expects a u/s and passwd -- which is not a Proxy passwd BTW).

So is there a way to work "offline" or download WUs and place them on the folder and then when it finishes upload them to the server somehow (or I can email me a file with all of the contents to my home PC and upload from there).?

Thanks.

It is not exactly a simple point and click process, but it should be possible.

Probably not, but I need to take a look at the actual registry values to know for sure. For example, it might be possible to set certain parameters from the client. I have F@H installed on my primary desktop, but the system is rarely powered on these day. I will try to check it later today to see how F@H handles the registry.

You can do what is called Sneakernetting.
Sneakernetting - FaHWiki

you will only be looking at the registry on the work computer, no changes made.

Already mentioned. It requires registry level access, which is not allowed at Eagle1's workplace.

No worries.

How do Xeons perform?
The company is planning to sell some workstations to the employees (too bad it's only 1 per emp. ).
I'll see if I can grab one!!

Are they single core Xeons?
Do you happen to know the speeds?

If I remember right, a 2.4Ghz single core Xeon will get you about 400-500 Points per Day.
I'm not sure how much this varies on models though. If it's a chip designed on Netburst technology, then it won't be all that fast.
If your talking one of the newer dual core Xeons, you will be looking at roughly about 1760 points per day, if your running the SMP client.

Yea, what KK said. My last dual 2.8 xeon runs just as fast as the Penitum D series cpu's plus it runs hot. Unless you know you are getting a good deal, ie given to you, the newer and cooler running chips are better not to mention they are multi cores.
