Well as you can see My production levels are way down, Sent one computer out on loan, it should start up again as soon as he gets internet service going. The router is just killing the internet speed so it remains unplugged for now.

Looks like I dropped off the list again. I tried moving my cable modem and router over to the other side of the room so I could easily run a CAT5 cable to my arcade machine, but alas it didn't work in that cable outlet... Oh well, still keeping my eyes open for a cheap wifi Dongle or card.

@ Butch- I'll keep my eye open for one. I assume the standard 802.11B/G will work?

now why you want to tell me that,
this asus board sucks for vista,
it runs XP great but vista has some issues, keeps telling me the ICH9 chipset has compatibility problems,
my temps are running at 61c running F@H, but I got lazy and used the old bracket so I didn't have to take the motherboard out to get the zalman installed, so maybe I'll try and change out the bracket tonight,
however these cool Minnesota nights sure help
temps are down to 56c with 54 degree cool breeze blowing in the window,
i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?
-
June 19th, 2008, 07:02 AM #14
Yeah, I use to have my PC in my window also, same idea..
But since, there is no more cool breeze here, so I moved it to on top of a AC vent..
My cores currently are running 56,56,57,58 on 3.67Ghz.
Dave, really if 61 is your temp, then you have a little bit of headroom, but not much. On my chip, instability hits starting at 66°. Are those temps on stock speeds?Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

it's now 81 degrees outside, my temp 68c it's oc'd to 3.0,
I was going to put it back on stock knowing it would get hot today, but F@H is running and every time I shut it down it fails and starts over, so I'm leaving it until it gets this WU done than I will turn it down,i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

Hey Dave maybe just run your quaddie stock. At the rate you going, you're not making headway crunching if you keep on losing wu. Just a thought. Maybe the hardware and Vista combo are just not compatible.
Happens.

Ended up getting the DealExtreme Linksys wifi adapter. DX can take some time to ship, but hopefully not too long!

thats what I did, I put it back to stock but had to wait for WU to get done before I could restart the box or I would have lost it,
for some unknown reason no matter how I shut F@H off it screws up and losses the WU, says improper shutdown and something about IO failed,
I looked it up and all I found was IO failure is hardware, but what hardware?
nobody knows, I think it's this chipset, unless I could change something in the bios,
I have this setup with dual boot, so tomorrow I'll try it on XP and see what happensLast edited by Cmptr-Gy-Dv; June 20th, 2008 at 12:20 AM.

Good Morning guys.
We had some nasty storms move through lastnight. Had to shut down all the cows. But, they're all powered up now, and crunching away again.

Now it's time to get some work in before more rain sets in today.

If anyone wants to see what the future of Kinect will be like, you should go watch the second episode of Black Mirror called "15 Million Merits". No need to watch the first episode as each episode is...
Is it OK to spy if its just for...
