I got a couple of boxes right now that is off line cuz of the heat. Either the hsf is out since it is making rattling noise all weekend or the mobo is out. Ordered from newegg the AC 7 pro, free shipping.
Still got the same herd as what I had 6 weeks ago except for this video card. Which you have been promoting.

Hey KK what is your ppd for that latest greatest video card of yours? I just took a peek at my lowly 8800gs and since yesterday it jump to 2658ppd from 1760ppd yesterday plus the smp client with 2908ppd for a whooping 5566ppd. I did change the driver to 177.35, not sure if that made any difference. The gui still did not work. I'll leave as is since I don't like looking at it anyway. All it does is waste cpu cycles.
I did not oc the video card yet but loaded Rivatuner. I wonder what is 2monsters 8600gt puts out? It's on newegg for $40 after mir plus s/h. |

I can't remember off the top of my head what the 8600 puts out. I can find out though real quick.
As far as my 9800, that depends. I'm still in the fine tuning stages. My system froze up overnight lastnight, the first time since I got this GPU. But I'm really thinking it may be either my PSU or Mobo. Gonna check into that. So I unclocked the card just to be sure that wasn't the problem. So on stock speeds, this is what I see: |

Holy Crap, look what I just found... Quote: 6.12 Beta 11 - ATI 6.12 Beta 11 - NVIDIA
Quote:
6.12 beta 9
* Fixed binary version information
* (CPU) XYZ filename passed to viewer with quotes
* (CPU) Installer directory issue
* Fixed core launch directory which caused auto-upgrades to fail if core was present in "Program Files"
* Added additional advanced config options to console clients
* Added MachineID selector in systray gui
6.12 beta 10
* Client shows PRCG on results upload
* Passkey now validated for hex content
* (CPU) Moved service installation to advanced config to prevent inadvertant use
* Log date and time when automatically attempting to upload results.
* Correctly restore system tray icon when shell (explorer.exe) crashes
* Significantly improved queueinfo
* Multiple copies of the client can no longer be started with the same "start in" dir
* Automatically increase packet limit to max size for results that are too large
* Failed uploads will be attempted again using alternative upload port (8080->80 and 80->8080)
6.12 beta 11
* Fixed Clone->Gen swap on upload PRCG notice
* Removed spurious "benchmarking..." messages
* Fixed upload crash-bug from beta 10
* Added extra_parms support to console clients
* Fixed queueinfo crash-bug from beta 10
This will NOT fix problems related to cores of course, like the viewer problems, nVidia desktop lag/lockups, etc.
Installation notes: You must uninstall the previous version before installing this version, however this should be the last time this is necessary.
Service installation is not in full working order yet, so your mileage may vary.

That is soooo sweet KK Yep I'm rethinking about oc'ng the video card. Kind of happy what it is producing as is. Do you agree that it is better to run with a quad than just dual core??
Btw with my down smp box,I don't think its the mobo but just the hsf, unfortunately it won't get her until Monday. Tried last night to run it stock with stock hsf folding. Nope mobo alarm started beeping. By the time I got to it, 2 of the cores are in low 80's. |

Btw I just unzip to its own folder and then copy and pasted on the client folder on the c drive and started it. |

I've been playing with the dually box, and it seems I get more PPD if I just let the GPU client go by itself. I just shut down the SMP on it, and it's now showing the 9600 getting ~3300 PPD. So if you do the math, on my dually, it's not worth running both. I think I'm just gonna let the GPU go by itself, see what happens to the points.
Really has got me thinking about getting another cheap box put together. I have a Sempron around here somewhere, I could probably get a cheap board and PSU. I have a flash drive I'd just use for a HDD, and maybe trying to get another el cheapo GPU. IDK though, have to see how mad the woman will get first..
And I just looked around, it seems the 8600GTS get around ~1800PPD. Not bad for $40 smackers..
EDIT: here's a good thread to look through. |

That doesn't work..
Are you just wanting to do a screen shot?
If so, the easy way..
Press the [PrntScrn] button on the shot you want
Go to paint
Go to Edit, then hit paste
Make sure you save it as a JPEG though. |
