    Distributed.net RC5-72 BETA Linux-AMD64 CUDA client

Distributed.net has released a beta RC5-72 CUDA client for Linux AMD64. A GTX 280 completes 500 Mkeys/sec, over 60x faster than the CPU client!

Grab it at distributed.net: Pre-Release Files

is this ONLY for AMD64 CPU's? or Intel as well? don't quite understand that part.

any chance they'd be releasing a Windows GPU Client?

if so, might see about firing up this for Team XPC again...

will see about posting this over at XPC, see what some have to say.

I'm S.O.L. as my Linux knowledge is lacking, & hate trying to figure out how to use it 99% of the time... but if they make a Windows GPU Client definitely would give it a go.

For now, it's just for 64-bit Linux using AMD or Intel cpus and an nVidia graphics card supporting CUDA. Once they are happy the kinks are worked out, they'll release clients for 32-bit Linux and Windows.

Sweet, Thats good to hear. (AMD & Intel CPU's, and possibility for a 32-bit Linux/Windows version)

as to the GPU's, I Know CUDA isn't "exclusive" to nvidia GPU's, technically someone can use CUDA to develop a program to use both Nvidia And/Or ATI GPU's, but just wondering if this one is exclusive to nvidia GPU's only?
