Getting started with F@H
I downloaded F@H a few days ago and want to make the most of it. During setup, I did not join a team - how would I join TIMO's? Is it possible to run more than one instance on my PC at once - it's using about 25% CPU at idle. PC specs are:
Intel Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz
MSI 8800GT 512 MB RAM
2 GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
I've read through the FAQ but a little more help would be great!

Now that you have that working go get the GPU client for your Video card.

Grr.. seems like the process hangs when I have more than one instance running. I created new shortcuts to each core to open one console apiece.. they look like they're running then just hang.. any ideas?

Should only need one console running. with the -SMP flag

I got sidetracked last night.. can't even fold with one instance now. I've been skimming through the thread and will follow the guides when I get home and let you know what happens.

I had the same problem, when I closed down the client, if started telling me that cause I incorrectly shut it down, it would start a new one.
For some reason everytime I got an error after that and the client would close.
I just deleted the whole folder and did the installation procedure from scratch, saves a lotta time if ya don't know what the problem is2 x Opteron 4280 2.8Ghz, Asus KCMA-D8, 32GB DDR3 1600, Asus 6950 DCII 1GB 2 x M4 64GB SATA600, Caviar Black 640GB, Seagate 1TB, 27"syncmaster

^ that is some good advice, it is often best to just scrap it and start fresh.

Removed everything, reinstalled using MPICH, had to delete the config file to get things set up. When I launch fah, only fahcore_78.exe appears in Task Manager. I used -smp -forceasm, any idea on what to do now?

deleted config file, went through it again, used only (space) -smp, still only one fahcore_78.exe in task manager
**edit**
scratch that, the space made all the difference.. 4 processes now listed in task manager

Ahh man.. I was just coming in to confuse you more on setup.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Quads are great folders, you should start to see some nice numbers.

WOOT! you owe me points for a month. J/K Glad you got it working.
NOW go download the GPU client. I promise that it is way easier to set up, and you will get even more points from it.

I use the Deino client . . .
Clue: Each client has its own folder in the directory.
I just got home and wifey wants to run . . . so if you want to give it a try, I'll be back in a couple hours to walk ya' through it.

If you wanna OC your GPU some, might get Rivatuner or EVGA Precision. At least you can up your GPU fan speeds, which will help with temps.
But for the most part, updated drivers are really all that you need to get started.
