    FAH gpu client help

Hey guys. Got the gpu client running on vista ultimate 23 bit. GPU is a ATI HD 2600. In order for it to even run correctly I had to run it as administrator. Now the GPU client is maxing out both my processor and GPU. Is that normal?

if I was running Vista on the AMD rig I could answer that, but unfortunately I can't, only running XP on it... but am running a 2600 Pro on that machine, so its a similar card. But I also run the CPU client with the GPU one, so my AMD system is always maxed out with both running.

hopefully one of the others can comment on that.

    No it's not normal Kevin.
What you need to do, is make sure you have the latest ATI drivers. Last I heard, a ATI card was still using 30-40% of one core, but both should not be maxed out.
Also, I always had to run as Admin the first time I ran it, then after that I could run as a normal user.

Figured out why it throws the error. It's working now. It's a single core athlon 64 3000+ running a 32 bit os. Is it normal to max out a single core processor running the gpu client? From the googling I've done it seems it is.

Hey all. I got the cpu & gpu clients running but I noticed that running them both cuts my gpu usage from nearly 100% to usually just over 50. Just wondering what you guys think....should I leave just the gpu client or should I run both?

/edit I should also note i'm running the catalyst 9.1 drivers....could that be the issues?

Really it's up to you. But what you can do, is download FahMon, set that up, and see what kind of PPD your netting with just a single client vs the dual clients. See if there is a difference, and if so, how much of one.
