well, when you get an order that large, you know evga is thinking,
"jack up the price, these are gonna sell like hotcakes!"
So probably yes, blame Atlas.

Been wondering the same thing. as well as what happened to all the open box "good" cards on newegg lately...
went to go searching for a good 9600GT/4670 card open box the other day, & found NOTHING!!!
nothing for 9600GSO, almost nothing for 9500GT, nothing for 9600GT, 9800GT, 8800GTS (G80/G92), 9800GTX, 9800GTX+, GTS 250 (didn't think I would here anyways), GTX 260, GTX 280, GTX 285 or 295 (again doubt I would, but just went looking anyways), no more 9800GX2's even listed on newegg. No Radeon 4650/4670, 4830, 4850, 4870, etc, as far as Open box cards, which is REALLY unusual for them, was as if someone cleaned house on newegg of all the good Folding or gaming open box cards or something...
was just weird is all.
actually got me thinking on that though. hell I couldn't even find any good cheap PCI slot Open box cards that might be ok for Folding (even though their not supposed to be supported)i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

He wants a simplified tax code? How about if you earn it the government gets it first. Then you file a tax report to the IRS for what you think you should get back. Sort of like the rest of us...
