Well, I've been sitting and wondering why my points don't seem to match up with what I'm running and after doing a little investigating . . . seems that I've been crunching as Anonymous for team 0 on a one of my machines. Corrected that now and we'll see what happens. MaterOanarchy's been playing around with his X2, so that hasn't been crunching for the last few days and I'm not sure when that will come back on line . . . but no matter, it's the fun of the game.
Nice stiff resistance KK, Ya' had me wondering what my problem was, taking so long to get by ya' for a couple days. Now it's time to head after 2M and rattle his cage a bit. P
We're still busy at work, but I'm getting tired of cleaning virus' all the time and doing mundane troubleshooting and repairs . . . starting to look forward to retiring again.

That was the case for us too until we upgraded the OS from NT4 to XP. Spyware everywhere and the users wonders how they got it. Stop downloading stuff like you do at home.

Our prices:
Virus Removal Level 1 -- $175
Virus Removal Level 2 -- $289 (98% of the time, we can do it with Level 1)
Yeah, we had one guy bring his laptop in badly infected . . . I cleaned it and warned him that he didn't have any AV. His said he didn't want to spend the money on AV and his friend had told him about "FEE" AVG and he'd put that on. Two weeks later, he brings it back in, badly infected again and claims that we never removed the trojans and virus'. AND he demands that we clean it again for free. Boss hands it to me and tells me to check it out . . . First thing I see is that he still doesn't have any AV installed. With a little more investigation, I was able to determine that he started downloading the trojans the morning before and then again the morning he brought the laptop back in. I even told him the website he'd gotten them from and the time . . . he was shocked when I showwed him the printout and that I could tell him where he had been at those specific times. End result was that he paid to have the virus' removed again. $350 in 2 weeks on virus removal was enough to convince him that we should put Trend on for him. The next day, he calls again to tell us that he went back to the same site and Trend went nuts and shut his internet down . . . but he didn't get infected as far as he could tell. Haven't heard anything more from him since.

98% of the time I have to fix anyones PC that's infected, it's always a pRon site that caused it. Of course, they always tell me that there is no way that's how, and they NEVER look at that stuff.
I show them proof, and they still deny it.
Oh well... they'll learn after so many fixes I guess. |

How many days does the Extreme Overclocking everage out for the 24h PPD? It shows a little voer 11,000 for me but Kakao stats shows over 17,000 PPD (Which is what F@HMon is showing.)
If I setup another SMP to take full use of the other "4" cores on my i7, I should be pushing over 20,000 PPD just from one box.

As far as I can tell, Overclocking's stats take your last 7 days, but do not include today, as those are still in progress and would skew your results down.
I am getting about 1,900 PPD out of my i7, but it is a 2.66 GHz 920... do you have a faster i7, and are you running linux? |

I have a 920 i7 OCed to 3.6ghz (Once I get faster ram, I plan to have it to at least 4ghz). I am getting about 3300PPD on 50% usage or "4" cores. I have been to lazy to setup another SMP folder to have it use 100% of the CPU. I am running Vista 64bit.
When it was at stock speeds, I was getting around 4500 to 5000 PPD with two SMP clients running. Now I should be getting around 6000-7000 PPD if I had two clients running.

That would equate to 3,000 PPD for a 4-core SMP at stock, and I am getting about 2/3 that. As far as I can tell, under Windows a1 GPU cores, I am going to be capped at about 7,000 PPD out of my single chassis.
I know the guys who started hardcore computers very well and have been itching to run a folding proof of concept on their machines. They are the first to do true full-submersion cooling (like Cray's super computers) where the motherboard, CPU, and GPUs are fully submerged in 4 gallons of non-conductive coolant. Then they over-clock the living bejeebers out of everything.
Imagine a highly overclocked quad-core loading work into 3x extremely overclocked GTX 280s. That could pretty easily be a 30,000 PPD box. |
