Well not sure how Karma gets the Stats posted in the opening posts, but started this weeks Folder Chat...
not much to say today, just got up an hour or so ago...
other than I have to start tonight on backing up my brothers friends system, and gutting it, maybe install some of the parts.
question I do have, on the C2D E6400, I never looked into it, but wondering if it would bottleneck a 320MB 8800GTS some, I know it did when I moved up to the 512MB G92 model, but not sure on the G80?
if it would, what would be a good speed to OC it to from 2.13GHz... 2.2, 2.4...?
my bro's friend doesn't use the PC much for games, just a few oldies like BF2, will be playing some of the new BF games when they release & a few other FPS games, maybe some racing ones, but not much else.

I'll post stats in a bit. Away from the main PC atm.
As far as speed, my goal is at least 3Ghz with anything Intel has their name on.
Those chips are capable of that, and more depending on cooling and such. But more then likely (depending on the board) the ram will hold you up, or heat will.
3Ghz should be doable with less then 1.4 vcore to. |

I doubt you will have a bottleneck with that cpu gpu combo.

ok cool.
yeah not looking for any speed records here, it'll be using 2GB (2x 1GB) DDR2-800MHz Kingston Value stuff, and stock Intel Cooler.
also the case is an older Antec 1080AMG, so its only got 80mm fans, the PSU is the 400W Silverstone, so has a good size fan on that, but 2 rear 80mm, 1 or 2 front intakes, a HDD 5.25" bay cooler, and a side 80mm fan (replacing the loud vantec with a Enermax Enlobal). G31 Motherboard also. and Windows 7 Beta 32bit, so not sure how it will react with the OC's like I had with the AMD rig this weekend.
but if the GPU shouldn't be Bottlenecked, then may just bump the speed a little to 2.2-ish, maybe 2.4 for a reasonable gaming CPU speed. |

Like kk said try for 3ghz and there should be no problems. Hell at 3ghz it may even run crysis Yea but i wouldnt woory about a bottleneck. Now if it was a P4 or a single core then there would be cause for concern. Whatever oc you can get, it will be that much better as long as temps are within reason. |

You guys are lucky I haven't found a Team researching Psoriasis. Welcome to the National Psoriasis Foundation Website Most people think its just a skin problem, I can tell you it is so much more. Psoriatic arthritis seems to be rearing its ugly head. Nothing major yet, but it is starting to affect my Knees and fingers, and just to keep things real interesting another wonderful part of an overactive immune system is having an irritable bowel. (Just think of going from zero urge to do number 2 to [scooby doo ]Rutro Raggy[/scooby doo] in 2 seconds.)
Sure there are some effective medicines if you don't mind the side effects. (the stuff for the IBS causes blurred vision, which is supposed to go away. for the most part it did but now I need reading glasses for fine print. (and i don't take it anymore.)
