| Help with F@H GPU, Please. What is an EUE?
Although I am able to download the FAH-GPU core - I am not able to commence simulation calcs. Here is a recent record from my FAH-GPU log: (what is an EUE, and what is 'the EUE limit', if you please? Is the "pause for 24 hours" some sort of JOKE!?) Thanks for help with this!?

early unit end, or some such.
its an error message. possibly caused by to high of an overclock, sometimes a driver issue.
shut the GPU frolding down and restart it.

| UNSTABLE_MACHINE
Thanks for reading my LOG, and request for assistance.
Yes, I have shut down the computer and restarted several times. After each restart, the LOG reads essentially the same as the commentary presented above.
In my opinion, I need help with the comments:
"Going to send back what have done -- stepsTotalG=0 [15:16:40] Work fraction=0.0000 steps=0."
I interpret, that the simulator 'build' on my computer is refusing to begin any calculations!?
Apparently, the diagnostic available to me, is "UNSTABLE_MACHINE".
Any ideas about specific reason(s)? The computer apparently is working fine for all other purposes. |

For the record, I have been to the F@H forum - and I found a reference to a new service - F@H Help Desk.
To submit a question - I needed to register - which I tried to do - and received the reply that I would be sent a LINK to verify my password.
To my knowledge, despite the allegations and assurances - I have not received a LINK to verify my password.
Any ideas about this new pathway, to 'get out of Dodge'? |

What GPU are you trying to run this on? What version of the client did you download?
Have you tried updating drivers?
The more info about your system you can provide us, the better.
I have no idea about the email/link thing though, sorry. |

| Some Hardware Information
Thank you for reading my post, and suggesting additional information about my F@H difficulties.
I have been using this 'secondary computer' for Folding at Home for quite a long time. I estimate more than 24 months. Using the conventional CPU protein folding simulation link and software.
Recently, I learned that I could earn 30 to 40 times as many points, if I could process the F@H-GPU simulator.
After checking with VisionTek, to obtain assurance of compatibility for F@H-GPU simulation calcs - I bought a VisionTek RADEON PRO 2400 HD video card.
After a false start with drivers from the CD ROM - I downloaded drivers from a VisionTek website. Almost immediately, the Stanford F@H-GPU simulator (version 6.23) reported that it could not locate compatible hardware in my computer.
So I wrote to VisionTek, and their tech support referred me to another LINK, for download of version 8.6n XP drivers. Apparently, the 8.6n XP drivers are acceptable to the F@H-GPU simulator - at least, it did not immediately abort the simulation.
My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP2200+, with 1.5 GB RAM.
Thank you for assistance to tweek my system, to be able to process
the F@H - GPU protein folding simulation software. |

| GPU Client Set-Up Instructions
Anyone following this thread, may find enlightenment with this LINK: Folding@home - WinGPUGuide
I have worked through the setup guide, and I have not been able to solve the difficulties with my installation.
The EUE refers to "Early Unit termination" (or something like that) - and a comments about UNSTABLE_MACHINE have most often been resolved by installation of appropriate drivers for the ATI RADEON video card. |
