best I can do for now
anyways, my new case came today, even though its a mid tower, smaller mid tower, the box was microscopic compared to what My full tower Thermaltake Armor came in 2 years ago. hell the box is smaller than the Antec Super Lanboy was in.
but its for all intents & purposes, new, room will be tight, but then again, I don't plan on filling it up with much, aside from maybe a 2nd smaller GPU, and a few more drives down the road. now just need to obtain a smaller PSU with enough amps on 12V for the 9800GTX & possibly a 2nd smaller 9600-ish range card. the SATA DVD burner for it came too, along with the Xigmatek cooler for the i7 (and the new replacement flash reader for the i7 as well).
on that cooler, sheesh, all they include for thermalpaste is a small baggie like thing for paste, one of those tear off the end things like adding sugar or creamer to your coffee or tea LOL...
but has plenty of parts for the various sockets, and its not BIG in mass, but it is rather tall, taller than the AC Freezer coolers, I'm starting to wonder what my height restriction will be in the Armor case with the 250mm mounted in there, may have to go back to the original fanless panel for this system again
the cooler isn't really heavy by any means, but does have some weight to it.
now I have everything to start on the i7. I backed up all my needed data except for Firefox bookmarks on the Q6600 last night, so thats done.
so later this week its getting started on.
was sick all day today, sinus cold or something, even despite taking my allergy meds, didn't do much for the runny nose issue (constantly blowing my nose this morning as well as hacking crap up), but much better now.
so hopefully tomorrow get started on finishing the Core 2 Duo system, then get started on my i7.
also found out from Virgin Mobile, NOW you can buy a new phone or accessories with your remaining cash balance in your account.
checked last year & as far as I could find out, you couldn't.
so now I can put to use my remaining $90 in the account. I was to put in another $20 last month but never did, so no phone service now. I bought the Verizon Blitz on sale at Target last week, so will be switching to that soon, at least out here I get a signal on the phone compared to VM.
I think what i'll do is buy their X-Tc phone for $99, and pay the difference, then see about selling the phone new in box if I can. see if I can get 80-ish for it.
otherwise I close out my VM account & lose that $90 in cash, at least this way i can get most of it back. maybe put towards my Verizon Pre Paid Blitz phone/account.
I like the VM X-Tc phone, but it doesn't support or use MSN/Hotmail for email (AIM & Yahoo, and only have a Yahoo account I rarely use), and the poor signal out here for VM's service. otherwise I'd get it & stay with them, and nice part is, its only $20 every 3 months at least/most.
versus $15 or more a month for the Verizon, but with the Blitz's more and better features (except video playback), its a better deal for me.
I don't know, maybe I'll keep it & have 2 phones... one to fall back on if I forget to pay the main one...i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

forgot to add, the Coolermaster case came with a freebie in it, one of their suede looking EeePC covers. was bundled in the box, and when I opened it I was like WTF, what is this? then turned the package over and was like WOW, a cover for a $250 EeePC (7" LCD model), but then was thinking, WHERE'S THE EeePC?

but seriously, that was kind of cool. joked with my Dad, now we have an excuse to go spend $300 on one of those netbooks to put this free cover to use LOL.
one of these: CM Store
apparently their free with CMStore orders of $20 or more. (Limited to the first 300 customers), considering i ordered my case almost 2+ weeks ago, they must not get too many customers on the CM store page then LOL.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

hey, at least they give you free stuff. I've ordered probably 4-5 cases from there, haven't got jack for free.

(btw, I have a use for that if you want to get rid of it)
And a side note, I found the links don't copy right depending on which browser your using. Chrome wouldn't copy correctly, but FF does. Maybe that's why your having problems?Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Hey KK, or anyone else running Nvidia, are these the latest drivers for the 8 series that supports or can run under Windows 2000?
ForceWare Release 169
if so I'll download them.
i found my Win2K disc so now I can dual install W2K & Win7 on my brothers friends system. just wondering what the last set of Forceware drivers for Win2K was, and if its ok to use WinXP drivers or would there be issues?i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

AAAccckk, my PPD have dropped over 2K points.
I logged into via remote desktop and saw that the F@H GPU got an error saying "Unstable Machine" and then something about waiting 24 hours to restart. Hopefuly it will work once the 24 hour thing is up, if not, I'll have to stop by my house sometime this week and restart the program.

who ever PM's me first with shipping info gets it then (haven't heard from KK... yet)

I checked that same link earlier and all the newer Forceware drivers are for the Quadro cards not Geforce, anything that does support Geforce cards is long before the 8 series even came out.
the link I posted I had gotten from a search in google for them.

If harder wants it, he can have it. I just know my g/f is crazy about weird things like that. She'd love it.

As far as the drivers, I'd go for the one's 2 linked to.

Most are For Quadro cards, some that are for Geforce cards are for 7 series at the latest, no 8 series listed there.
unless 8 series Geforce cards are not capable of running under Windows 2000?
i'd use the newest Quadro Drivers for Win2K, with the Geforce 8800GTS 320MB, but i want to make sure there's no performance hits in games, using them, usually the Quadro cards perform a little less than their Geforce counterparts in games.
but will see if I can get XP MCE running on it with the spare key, if I can I'll just install XP 32-bit Forceware drivers then.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Sometimes things fix themselves, other times it takes a little assistance.
(I'll try and stay out of the Shy length post here.)
Last year a friend wanted to borrow my Garden tiller. The damn thing would run for a bit then die, and He offered to give it a full tune up. Air Filter, oil,Spark plug and all that. He did some of the work to it, got it running, but obviously not all of it. No Air filter for one as there isn't one in it at all, (Try and find one for a 40 year old Honda.)(I'll make my own.) \
So He used it, then My brother in law used it. It worked Great again. So after they were done it came home. It even had a full tank of gas.
Out back We went. (the Tiller and I.)
Made one pass down the Garden, made my turn and it DIED! Right back to square one where i started off. I couldn't get fuel to the Carburetor. I set about diagnosing the problem. Discovered that it had no air filter, the Oil looked just as old as what was in it to start with. He did put a Fuel filter on it though, but the carb was plugged. I was PISSED. If I tell somebody I'm going to do something I do it. If for some reason I can't, I'm honest about it and tell them. Sometimes things take longer than expected, but it gets done.
Lets just say this type of thing makes me get Mad and want to do something Stupid. I didn't do anything stupid right then though. I just said Screw it, walked away, and left it sitting in the Garden where it stayed until about a week ago. No Garden last year, No Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Carrots, NOTHING!
Unheard of for me.
That Brings you up to last week.
My father needed me to move some dirt into a flower bed so obviously i went and did that for Him. While i was there he wanted me to help level off the front yard so he can lay sod. Hard packed Dirt.
Typical Me I, as My Father would say Put my Mouth in motion before I put My mind in gear." and decided it would be better and Easier to just till it up, and that it wouldn't take much to get the tiller running. He Even gave me Gas money. The plan was to get it running for this weekend.
So off I went to the House i went. Sent My wife to get me some gas, and went out back to drag the Tiller up to the house so i could work on it.
I checked the gas tank. Nothing in it, no Gas, no rust, Nada. (either the neighborhood kids got it, or i left the valve open and it seeped through.) My Wife arrived with the gas, i poured some in, opened the gas valve, watched as it ran through the filter into the carb and out the overflow tube onto the ground. Successfully going from no fuel to way to much.
I knew even before i started that the Carburetor was going to have to come off, so off it came, cleaned it out. (lots of rusty junk from the carb.), and put it back together.
Fuel on, minor drip from the over flow. Ignition on, choke on. Nothing. Not happening. Flooded. turned the fuel off, walked away, drank a few Beers. Tried it again later. nada. Drank more Beer and left it sit for a day. While Drinking the Guy who borrowed it and supposedly told me he would come over and look at it the next day. Didn't happen. ( he can suck my left nut before he borrows anything from me again.)
After hearing that he hadn't been there I went to take another look at it. The first thing i noticed was that the fuel valve was off, and there was still fuel in the line.
I decided to give it a try for the heck of it knowing that it should not be flooded.
Ignition on.
Choke On.
Fuel off. (didn't want it to overflow and flood.)
first pull POP, Pop....
second pull POP,POP,POP! ITS RUNNING!!!!! opened the choke, It kept running.
Opened the Fuel valve. Still running, but a minor drip from the overflow.
This is a 1978 Honda Front Tiller. Old? Yes, but its a Honda. It looks nowhere near 40 years old. I knew the problem was minor, its running, and the overflow drip is down to almost nothing. (I need to take the float bowl off and adjust the float.)
The beast is back.
adjusted properly it is sweet. Want to dig your way to China? Drop anchor and it will burry itself. Till up Gravel? Done that, not a problem.
If it hits something it can't chew you better be ready because it is going to launch itself out of the hole. Try hitting Concrete with some of these new ones and they are toast. Not this thing.
