Well I'm suppose to know by the end of the week.
(I'm getting so sick of hearing that)

But it seems like it went well. So I'm crossing my fingers. This would be a awesome job too. Benefits, payed vacations, company ride, the works. I hope I got it.

    Well, I guess I owe an update . . .

    8800GT Alpha Dog #5 is now up and crunching . . .

I'm on the surgery list for total hip replacement with the VA . . .

The company I work for downsized . . . They closed one of the 3 stores, cut the personnel by a third, and shifted the remaining techs between the other two . . . nothing changed for me.

New Grandson is back home and putting weight back on quickly.

So, all around, I've had a GREAT week!

Good Luck KK . . . hope you get the job and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Oh, I also found out my VA disability claim has taken a step forward and things are looking good on that front as well.

    Visited the Surgery doc today...

first to start it off, I knew I'd probably have to be dropping my drawers for him for some check up stuff...

but things got a little nervous for me... when I find out that he had with him a female med student to sit by and observe...

and YES, she was freakin hot (had to be early to mid twenties at least)...

sure enough he had me drop my drawers for part of the exam to see if he could tell if I had a hernia in the groin area, luckily he only had me drop them part way, so she didn't get to see the "full monty"

but none the less it was a bit different experience for me LOL. though she did get to see my big gut, all round and pasty white, bald spot where my shirt always rubs against the navel area etc LOL...

just glad he didn't let her have any hands on experience, otherwise might of been some other awkward moments at the Doctors office...

anyways, he's not convinced I might have a 2nd hernia, but isn't sure, originally said we could do one of two things, wait off on it, if it gets worse down the road when more symptoms occur that might indicate for sure that it is, or we could do an exploratory and see if it is. then when I mentioned about the 1st one, it totally slipped his mind, but if I got that one done, he could take a scope and stick down inside there and look around to see if indeed it is one, if so, they could take care of both at same time, if not, then oh well, just heal the main one.

would have to maybe look into further tests afterwards to see what else it could be thats bothering me.

so I opted for the latter, but until I know how I'm going to get by for 3 to 4 weeks financially while being out of work, I won't be having this done, so hopefully if I have any luck with work and my profit sharing stuff, taking some money out for that, I could be looking at getting it done sometime after the next 2 weeks maybe, or when ever they can fit me in...

the doc said though he usually only puts people on restrictions for no more than 3 weeks (but I figured if I were to be out for 3 weeks, I might as well take 4 off, especially with the lifting i do at work, want to be sure and be healed up good).

but its a same day in/out operation, and aside from not lifting anything over 10-20 pounds for that 2-3 week period, I should be able to do any other regular activities, walking, running, exercising, driving etc, a day or two or so after the op, with little to no troubles, granted I might have some soreness and discomfort but nothing pain meds can't resolve.

just got done watching some TV with our dog, parents are asleep and that means its "ok" to lounge on the couch with me LOL, normally she's not allowed on the furniture, but I made an exception tonight for her to lay down with me and rest her head on/near my lap, since we had Thunderstorms roll through, and she has a tendency to get nervous during them and pee all over the place, usually my parents room or if no one is in the living room out there then. after putting her outside, to pee, went back to watching TV, and letting her lay down up there.

after got done, I proceeded to open the box of my new Wally World cheapy fan I bought, an 8" Massey high output deskfan, on low setting its louder than any other comparable size fan I've heard LOL... but it works. while testing it, on the floor in living room borrowing a spare socket in Entertainment centers surge protector, I turned it on, and our dog really loved the cool air flow, asked her if she wanted one for her birthday (July 4th), she just looked at me with this "Cool, I can't believe you bought me a new fan today, I love you so much more now... but I still want my doggy snacks, so where are they?" LOL, kind of look.

anyways, placed the fan in the bedroom high up on one of the cabinets angled down on low speed, so have something blowing cool air on me while sleeping. Dad got the AC's plugged into his room and livingroom, but considering the half ass job he did last year installing it, I said I'd take care of it myself, make sure I don't have any 1/4" gaps in the window with the AC mounted in it for large thumbnail sized bugs to crawl into the room...

so till I get some wood, measurements and borrow my brothers power tools, I'm not getting my AC installed until then, so the fan is standing by for the time being. may resort to the redneck AC method for a little while, some ice in a plastic bucket or pan behind the fan for cool air LOL...

Wishing you well dude, but don't you normally get paid holidays...??

Would you like to have a Ducati Desmosedici as your company ride...? I'm sure it would make your jouneys to and from work a lot more interesting...!!

No, that really depends on the job. Some jobs have paid holidays, benefits, others don't.

(I wish it was the same way over here as it is over there.)

Anywho, I'll find out soon enough.
For the mean time, eating some homemade chocolate chip bread.

Good luck Harder/Shy on the medical stuff.

And shy, when I get in uncomfortable situations like that, I like to crack jokes, to keep the tension at ease.
You know, something along the lines of:
"Like what ya see doc?" or "There's plenty more where that came from"

I bet she wouldn't have stuck around for long.

Oh yeah, hope all goes well with the medical schtuffs (sorry, tend to skip over long posts... ) Shy and Sharder....

I'm gonna guess from the paid leave thing earlier that you wouldn't get paid sick leave either (which must suck - and not in the good way).....

It's funny you mention that. I got a buddy that just picked up a 998 last week. He had a ZX-7 before, sold it, and hasn't been riding for a couple years. He was looking around one day, and found a 998 with a full carbon fiber kit, pipes, the works for a UBER cheap price. He jumped on it, and has been bragging ever since.

It is seriously one of the more beautiful bikes I've seen in a long time. I'm soooooooo jealous.

Bah... Need to get off the subject. Every year about this time, I get bike sick. I really miss having one.

I thought you had a bike..?

(For some reason I keep thinking you have/had an SV...???)

Had a good giggle inside my lid this morning on the way to work..... Giving the brakes a good test before all the police cash machines (a.k.a. speed cameras) and wringing the loud handle immediately afterwards... Seventy mile-an-hour wheelie anyone...?!?!?

I did have a couple bikes, but I've sold them off. I sold the last one thinking I'd "upgrade" but then the lack of job and stuffs got in the way. :\
It's ok, I'm still eyeing them, and when I get employed again, that's probably the first toy I'll buy after I get the bills payed.

thats another reason for getting the hernia's fixed soon if I can, been itching for a bike for years now, just a basic 500cc ish bike, 2 years ago had my eye on a Suzuki Katana 500cc (GS500 I think), forget what year it was, but was early 2000's, late 90's something like that, but had the fairings on it in front.

anyways, for years now, though never ever actually riding a bike (not since I was 4 or 5, maybe 6 and would ride on back of my dads old 70 something honda he had), in my dreams I know exactly how to drive one, shift gears etc, and there's the same Blue and White Suzuki, a bit older (mid 90's), higher mileage but I've fixed it up, so it does the job... just odd I have that dream every so often with the same exact bike, its the same one I remember seeing in an ad in a car mag back in high school.

if I had the money, I'd buy my self a Triumph Daytona or Sprint ST, for some reason I really like those British Triumph's (along with Lotus, Noble, and Aston Martin for Brit car manufacturers)...

anyways, along with my dad, and some others, they suggest I get the hernia stuff fixed before thinking of getting a bike, at least the bikes I'm looking at, where your leaning over or hunched over for most of the ride, if I had a sudden burst of pain from the hernia while on the bike at 60, that could be disastrous, etc...

between that advice, the hankering for wanting a bike for a 2nd mode of transportation, even if only for occasional drives to work, quick run to the convenience store or for cruising around on scenic rides with buddies around the lakes and resorts up here. add in the dreams every so often, getting my hernia/s fixed may be a good idea. finding an affordable bike in my price range is easier than finding a car, so might be something to look at.

not mine, turned the Q6600/9800GTX off last night with the storms, didn't want to take a chance of frying it in a lightning strike (core of the system is sold, and already spent the $200 they paid, so if it fries, no way of making a refund right now LOL)

and the 2600 Pro is not running since last night, so I could monitor the storm on radar, and use the rest of the PC for email, posting, and surfing web, with little lag.

but thanks for the heads up though, won't bother to rush turning the 9800GTX system back on this morning then.
