[F@H Chat 5-18-09] Disturbed Computing for the new week!
How disturbed does a cruncher become?

KK kills computers, WTF e is in the lead, Shyguy spams away, Sarah_L continues to crunch from the front lines in a combat zone . . .

Harder

yeah, that was a stanford error though. It has been crunching at the same clock speeds for months now, and I never had problem. I kind of thought it may be heat related, which I guess it still could be. I kicked on the AC today, so that may have helped. But after I posted that, it got back to crunching.

And disturbed

Well just checked my i7's stepping, seems its an older C0 instead of the D0's...
Karma since you and some of the others cruise the XS forums (been a long time since I've looked around over there or logged in to the forums for that matter), has there been much good success with the older C0 steppings, just incase I want to get this chip up to a good 3 to 3.5GHz clock (3GHz at least if I can)
or any idea what an average OC would be for an i7 C0 stepping running a decent air cooler? (I know it will depend on the Mobo, RAM, etc, and even then the chip doesn't guarantee a good clock, but anyways)i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Disturbed... Disturbeded...
what ever...
was getting ready for work this morning, took my antibiotics for my teeth, as I was having an issue on one area of my gums that flares up from time to time, way up where the gums meet the inside of the cheek, usually coincides with sinus problems... but anyways, took the stuff, then started getting ready, and already before that I could feel I was going to be hacking up mucous and stuff this morning, but that only complicated things...
half done getting ready for work, when I started to really hack stuff up, then next thing I know it lead to puking up the mucous, some of my dinner from last night, some Ice Cream from before I went to bed and some of the antibiotics, needless to say the taste was vile...
still hacking mucous and stuff up on and off, and unfortunately have to call in sick again today...
pisses me off too, since the last two days my sinuses have been drying up with the weather, almost like during the winter sometimes with the dry air. then early this morning this crap starts.
still have my appointment with the surgeon to talk to him later this afternoon though.
right now I'm boiling up some water for a cup of herbal mint tea, then head back to bed for a few more hours of sleep (didn't get much last night with the heat, was up every 30 minutes and then back to sleep).i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

The C0's still clock nicely. On a decent motherboard and cooler, it's easy to get 3.8Ghz. That's about the minimum clocks most are getting. If your board can support it, then you can most likely still get 4Ghz.
MAEN crew! Gotta another interview today. Hopefully this one goes well.

Main Crew? don't you mean MAEN Crew? LOL...
but cool, should be able to hit at least 3GHz then, since thats my target minimal if and when get it together and try to OC it.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Can you tell I just woke up?
(and fixed)
Do you have the MSI X58 plat? Or another model?
I read a guy yesterday saying his Platinum board holds his C0 at 4.2Ghz all day. So if you got a good batch, you may be in business.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz
