Ok, well couldn't think of a good title for this mornings chat thread, so Fill in the blank with what ever you can think of LOL...

(besides being creative, gives us something else to spam about in the chat thread )

anyways, Looks like this is the week...

The Q6600 system took a dump on me for the last time a couple days ago, after retrieving some last minute files and backing them up. Going to finish the cable management in my brothers friends PC, and really bear down and get the i7 system running.

debating what to do with the 9800GTX, keep it and run it in the i7 with the 4870, keep it and run on the Socket 939 system as soon as I can find a decent PSU/Case to house it in. or sell it.

anyways, the other night after work I was so wore out and exhausted (either I had some other health issues, or a viral infection or I was just exhausted and lack of nutrition, not sure, but feeling much better after yesterday at work)...

but i came home and intended to go to sleep early again, and lay down and listen to internet radio channels while dozing off.

but I wanted the screen "dimmed" but not off, and didn't have anything for screen savers that i wanted really, so I figured I'd run the F@H GPU systray client with the display on... a no go, for a while now its been intermittent with working, most of the time the nv4display something or other would pop up on a BSOD...

so I resorted to uninstalling F@H GPU, Nv Display drivers, updated to latest Drivers, and installed "latest" GPU2 client for systray, and STILL was acting up, so eventually after the millionth reboot and BSOD, I gave up on running the GPU client display, and just run GPU2, with Screamer Radio in background, was working fine for a few minutes.

Left the room for 2 minutes came back and the screen was "off", and there was a continuous stuttering sound over the speakers, so since I was listening to my usual electronic music channels I thought it was part of the song or something, LOL, after about a minute of continuous stuttering, I realized the system hard locked, and screen was "dead"... so shut the system down and figured screw it, I'd had my last straw, I'll retrieve a few files off the system I need for back up, and to burn a DVD with some files for a friend for this weekend, and then the systems coming apart in 2 days from yesterday. (wednesday if I can, if not, definitely starting on Thursday).

hopefully by friday or saturday the i7 will be up and crunching. assuming I don't hit any snags like I have been lately.

I'm loving that I'm working my way up the standings, gonna be climbing around a place per day for the next week or two..!

And, I think I've managed to creep up a place or two on the 24 hour average too...!!

And I seem to be working my way down I finally had my rig pumping out a steady, reliable 8,600 PPD for weeks on end, maybe going 4 weeks or so between boots. BUT, I have slipped big time over the last 4 days. (I am xam.relseor)

There is something about weekends that are cursed for me. I am away from my folding machine and have no good access to it Fri-Sat-Sun most weekends, so if something is going to blow up... It is always Friday, never Sunday, just to insure I lose 3 full days of folding. Nothing ever goes wrong on a weekday.

So this weekend I start getting all kinds of EUEs on my linux SMP folders. Lots of:

(This is a 2677 WU)
Code:
[06:48:38] Completed 212510 out of 250000 steps (85%)
[07:05:33] Completed 215000 out of 250000 steps (86%)
[07:18:40] CoreStatus = 1 (1)
[07:18:40] Client-core communications error: ERROR 0x1
[07:18:40] Deleting current work unit & continuing...
[07:18:54] - Preparing to get new work unit...
[07:18:54] + Attempting to get work packet
[07:18:54] - Connecting to assignment server
or

(This is a 2669 WU)
Code:
[16:07:33] Completed 47500 out of 250000 steps (19%)
[16:21:36] Completed 50000 out of 250000 steps (20%)
[16:34:08] CoreStatus = 0 (0)
[16:34:08] Client-core communications error: ERROR 0x0
[16:34:08] - Attempting to download new core...
[16:34:08] + Downloading new core: FahCore_a2.exe
Not isolated, happens to all 3 linux instances and all weekend long.

Oh well. We'll see how today goes.

Say, totally off topic WRT folding...

Susan Boyle has stolen all the headlines from "Britains Got Talent"... But check out some of the other contenders.

Now that's what I call Talent! - Britain's Got Talent - Playlist

This video playlist will actually take almost an hour to play end to end. But sooo worth it. The first clip, the disco guys, you can skip, but the other 10, everyone of them is just a profound demonstration of talent, simply mesmerizing. The auditions on this show are better than the finals on American Idol. Unbelieveable. Simply unbelievable. And the two dance performances just take things to an all new level.

BTW, Diversity and Flawless ahve both already done their first semi-final round (the other clip above was their auditions). Here's their next ones: Semi-Final 1: Diversity - Britain's Got Talent - Video and Semi-Final 2: Flawless - Britain's Got Talent - Video

Howdy crew. I've been having some issues with my rigs as well.
My dual core box seems like it's having a PSU go out on it. Whenever I start up the 2nd GPU, it restarts.
But I knew that was coming. I didn't figure a OC'd dual core, 2x 8800gts, and lots of fans would stay good forever on a 350w PSU.
So I guess I'm gonna have to do something about that. I have another 350w FSP here I may rig up, so I have dual PSU's pushing the rig. That's the cheapest/easiest solution I see, so that's probably what will happen as soon as I get over this sickness.

Anywho, that's all I got to report atm.

Ok So everyone with the rig problems, your not alone. My 780i mobo I just got back from rma last month bit the dust AGAIN! Now comes the bad part....I think it took my GTX275 with it. Today I'm gonna throw the 275 in another rig just to make sure. It could possibly be my Ocz psu is going bad as well, other than that it's time to shake the rigs up again.

My only problem right now is a ID10T error. I keep forgetting to UN-Pause the GPU client.
