-Stop the current client by pressing CTRL+C (either after completion or in the middle of wu completion).
-Open your current folder (that you used to run 5.91/5.92 smp client).
-Unzip the new 6.22beta2 executable in the same folder or unzip/extract the zip file to its own folder and copy all files to the 5.91/5.92 folder.
-Rename the new client 6.22beta2 executable to fah6.
-Run the new executable with the -configonly flag then check the configuration (there are some new fields added).
-Create a new shortcut for the new client and replace the old startup shortcut.
-Restart the client as usual.
-The old 5.92 client will expire tomorrow 2 Aug 2008.
-The 6.22 client is capable of being use as single core without the -smp argument or multiple core with -smp argument.
-The new client has several new -configuration field added. The client arguments like -smp, -verbosity 9, -forceasm or -oneunit. The argument can now be either put on the client config or on the shortcut like the 5.92 client. The same process also applies to the GPU clients which also expires as the smp client. Hi again.
What's the system specs? What OS are you running? (32bit or 64bit?)
Lots of times these issues are due to the wrong client being used, or sometimes depending on which version, the admin privileges aren't setup right. |

Vista Home Premium (32 bit ) Duo Core Pentium E2160 ( 1.80GHZ ) 2GB Ram
Only a 3.0 "Windows experience" rating, video card drags down the 4.8's and 4.5's It is an NVIDIA GeForce7100/nForce630i
I also happened to remember that I am running Windows Live One care and this is the console (Home PC ) for the (4) notebooks on the network. ( Nice ,new cisco WRT160N, all notebooks are N but hardwired to switches ) I just opened the firewall and now the sys tray icon for F@H says "Attempting to get work packet"
I think setup went OK, I opened ports 8080 (?)
Hold on! Now working! Working (0/1500)
Thanks,
LET'S FOLD! |

Well just for a warning, if your in vista, you need to run the folding program as "admin" or shut of UAC. It's a annoying little thing a lot of people don't catch.
Glad you got it working though. |

Going to add some more machines. As a 5 year pancreatic survivor I want some company. Ya' just never know do 'ya?
How are the numbers trending? I just checked stats and see Team 111 is 125 of xxxxxx,,,,Is that up or down from a month ago? Thinking about turning on my whole little company to folding. ( just 70 employees ) Would enjoy seeing us hit 99 for starters.
Thanks Again,

Welcome to the team,
I told ya were a pretty nice bunch. You just got off on the wrong foot when you started.
Nice to have survivors on the Team, I lost a good friend to pancreatic Cancer a few years back. The worst part is it happened right when things were finally looking up for him in his life.

Nunya,
Here's to Martin Ragan. I hope he was single and left no wife or kids, I have lost three friends and I good friend to pancreatic in the past 4 years. With family, it's SO damn hard on them, or for me to be around. Don't know what to do,,,
Indeed, a pretty good bunch. Lot's of responses this evening. ( Up to 240, maybe I'll make the list by bedtime, or in the morning.
