OK I'm in, if I am eligible. I still don't have 100 posts. It's a little hard to answer questions when you have as little tech. knowledge as I do.
But thanks to you guys, I am learning.

same here... already got it. (the game, got my copy from Win2KUser a couple years ago over at XPC)

Sad news today, just got an email found out that one of my former Clanmates from my old gaming clan, was killed in a Motorcycle accident 2 days ago. leaves one or two fatherless children in its wake now too.

he was a nice guy, but had a short fuse and lack of patience etc, would blow a fuse too quickly when gaming and had a temper, but luckily our clan leader (his Sensei, Karate) was able to help him keep his temper after the 1st kid was born. can't remember if he got married, but either way he leaves a mother with 1 or 2 kids (not sure if its two or not, last I heard they were expecting a 2nd, but that was over a year ago).

Anyways, with that said, and last year our oldest member (early 70's and Korean War Vet) of my current clan was in a similar accident, got banged up pretty bad, but managed to survive. those of you who do drive motorcycle or ATV's or whatever, WEAR YOUR SAFETY GEAR NO MATTER WHAT!!!

its not a guarantee for survival, but it can help reduce the chances.

I'm in for Flying JJ, if I win I'll sent it to Flying JJ. AT least be good for something other than Harder's bullseye.

Really slowed him down running over KK and 2monster. Guess they were sleeping on the delay and retrograde operations class. Good for 2monsters he is maintaining contact.

    Thanks engracio.
Can anyone explain the relationship between the sharder, clock and mem. speed for folding applications? The 2-275's play games great but would love to max them folding. Say if the sharder goes up should another go up or down?

Thanks to 2Monsters, those settings are running stable and temps. came way down!!! (thanks Karma for the fan suggestions). Now I feel comfortable about temps. and will be getting the 3rd 275 as soon as I can get to the bank to put some checks in. This working 12hrsx7days, you can't do much but the $ are good. When I get the next 275 the COD WAW will come on here for someone who want one.

I do wish the 295-coop would be available somewhere. I will ask though which will be better, a pair of 295-coop's or a pair of good ole 295's?

    Eh!

We've had a week of T-storms off and on and I've lost a lot of time crunching.

MasterO is back crunching for me and Movingmind may kick in again.

I've had to re-work a couple computers and replace some more caps in the last week . . . now I'm looking for a 470/16v for evga 8600GT that was given to me. I've got an 8500GT sitting in the closet un-used too, but I'm running out of PCI-e slots to put them in. They don't get much for PPD, but it all helps.

Found the A/C in the garage off this afternoon and had to take care of that. (Filter was plugged and the water tank was full. ) Picked up a replacement gigabit switch for the HTN . . . will switch that out tonight.

Had to go into work today . . . while cleaning a couple badly infected computers, I managed to infect my workbench computer. Left the shop with Acronis Recovery taking care of it.

Now I would gladly take that COD copy of your hands.
    My woman stole mine.
(plus I could own you and aaron in game)

And the strap is on the core clock and the shader clock (not to be confused with sharder)
It's just like the FSB: DRAM strap on your motherboard. After you go up so much in your shader, you might have to go up with your core clock. For examply
If your trying to set your shaders to say 1500Mhz. Your core clock is say at 800Mhz.
As you up the shader clock, you'll hit like 1480Mhz, or maybe 1520Mhz, but you can't get it to set inbetween. So if you bump up your core clock slightly, say to 820Mhz, you'll be able to set it at 1500Mhz.
    Does that make sense?
Sometimes you won't hit the exact numbe your shooting for anyways, it's just one of those things. But this really only comes into play when your literally clocking to the max folding stable.
Once you get to that point, lmk, I'll introduce you to the voltage tuner program. You'll have a hayday with that. (although your temps will shoot up, so be prepared)

yeah, that thing.Just goes to show my tech knowledge. I wish I could get a sharder to work on my systems!

Trying to understand the relationships between all these settings. I want to get the max out of my rigs, I only have my stuff folding for me and have little to no clue about all this stuff.
I just built my first rig with Aaron_8015's help , he kind of flew through some stuff but I did manage to pick most of it up. Since I got him the 2nd 260 and V-8 cooler, he has been working on his system.
Soon I will be building another one, just waiting for the newest parts to come out. I will be asking about compatability soon.

What they have a lifetime warranty, ----- lets get nutz! Really just kidding, but will try too push it to its limits.

Already have the strap off and set it to the ones you had up. I am just trying to understand what I did.
The games work flawless on the stock settings but I want to max out my ppd. I am trying to catch that naked guy ahead of me.

Those settings are totally fine to run 24/7. They could probably be upped a bit. I'm comfortable the way they are for me. Now kk on the other hands likes to really push his cards with voltage adjustments. That's where the warranty comes in handy.

    @ Flying JJ
Here is a good read on ocing the GTX275
Some good ocing numbers on page 2 you can try.
    GeForce GTX 275 Overclock guide

I looked around a bit and it seems that 1584 Mhz on the shaders is pretty much max for these cards. Then again every card is different so it's still pretty much trial and error to find the max stable oc for your card.

    2Monsters,
Thanks for the link. Just read it and can't wait to get home from work to try to push it.
Just went to the EVGA website and reviewed the warranty. Think I should pre-start an RMA? Just kidding, I am happy with the settings I have now, when I get done with these 12x7 work days in about Sept. to Nov. I will try to push these and whatever else I get by then.

Edit: My biggest problem with searching for this stuff is I don't even really know what to search for or what questions to ask.

Are you kidding? I have the warranty voided well before I even start overclocking it.
