Hey guys, they all count. Surreal and I just happen to be among the more Seriously Deranged of the Formerly Deranged Bovines
I once did some math and figured out that if it was only the big points folks, say the top 10 spots, and nobody else, this team would only be in something like 174th place. They all count, and it's all for a good cause, and a boatload of fun too, at least from where I'm grazing |

Im interested still, being not so informative related to UD, how does this 400k milepoint affect the folks associated with "UD" or the rest of us---or otherwise?
I messed with number crunching a couple years ago with not much gained, we used it as a system benchmark (via overclocking) at the time with better more accurate methods to follow---I read recently the cancer deal fizzled/finished leaving people with questions as to why they put their effort forth---I can understand the reason why people put their energy into encryption cracking for a $1000 prize (is that even happening any more?)
I guess my Q is why? A bank of mostly underpowered cast off machines sucking power, increasing your monthly electric bill, heating your house, with the maintainence involved keeping them running working toward---? Some folks even specially build machines to "crack" with---sorry I dont get it...can ya give me an idea as to what im missing, what have you personally experienced from participating with DC???
AND---ive heard this as being "addictive"---huh???

| Well, it's a good excuse, kinda like having
one to game on,
one for the neighborhood server which happens to have a Lian Li case
And one to surf on!
And yes I will pour out my heart, in the AM to ya my friend.
But I got up at 4am and sheesh I needs me beauty sleep! (or I won't stay a little minx for long! )
as far as the addiction goes, it's healthier to crack, than use crack! |
