@ Nude
Did you ever think of running all those cores full out? Say for over a weekend ( I'am assuming they are at work ). I was wondering just how many points you could do in 24 hrs @ 100%. My 1 is running @ about 75% due to heat concerns. Need to go to water cooling soon. [ insert hose squirting smiley here ].

If I could find out about setting up a script that would enable the service/s to be restarted, then I would - same as I could set them up to run at 80+% overnight too..!
There are a couple of other computers at work that I manually pause (and resume) or change the %age (and restart the services manually) when my colleagues go out to lunch and overnight...
I've got a feeling that one of them has a quad-core PC, but I only managed to install 2 cores when I was working on it a few weeks ago... Keep meaning to find out (and install extra clients if it is) but he locks the computer and hasn't been off since I installed the first two...I've seen the light... Sounds like alot of work. I thought you already had done something like this. Where I worked last, the IT dept. could remotely do anything to your computer.

I can do most things remotely, but for some reason I have been unable to find a way to get the F@H service/s to restart.
Normally, you would go into Services, find the service you want to deal with and find the EXE - by looking in the "Properties" box. Then all you have to do is write a batch file (that can be scheduled to run using the Scheduled Tasks) that starts, stops, pauses or resumes the EXE. You can write multiple commands within the same BAT file, for example:
I've done this for the Print Spooler for a server where they had issues every couple of hours when they were suddenly unable to print to a networked printer. I created a BAT file (stored on the desktop - just in case we need to run it as a one-off) and there's a Scheduled Task that runs every 90 minutes, which runs that BAT file. They haven't had any issues since then.net stop service_name
net start service_name
If I could get the F@H service to restart using a BAT file, then I would set it up either a second client per core and have that run at around full pelt, or create a long BAT file that amends the config file, then stops the service, followed by starting the service again - either way, I would create a task that runs the BAT file to increase my output - and another that reverses it to stop it being noticed...I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...

Top of the morning to ya's!
And I have that same problem when posting stats newd. Secret is paste then, then click the "go advanced" or "preview post" then it'll mess them up so you can fix them again.

Hey the Icy Diamond you guys were talking about on GPU's, what is this stuff, where do you put it and how good is it. Mine get up to the low 80's and I would really like to keep them in the low 60's. Have plenty of air in the case but card spacing is a little of an issue.
KK- hope the 300's come out like the 295 co-op w/ the hydrocopper

To bend he's sending them to me first! Muhahahahahah

at least that's what I hope!
I just read some about the new cores. TMSC already has them in production, but it seems as the yields aren't so good. So basically means they are gonna be more expensive yet then what some where thinking.
(in the article they said that they were getting 30%-40% yields, which is pretty bad in all honesty.)

Say, every time I reboot, my linux SMP WUs are getting the kibash now.
[13:52:31] Loaded queue successfully.
[13:52:31] Unit 9's deadline (June 22 15:07) has passed.
[13:52:31] - Preparing to get new work unit...
I can see that the deadline for the unit is actually something like 7/1, and that my computer clock is set right. This has happened several times and each time the faux deadline that the folder thinks I have violated is always 6/22.
WUs complete just fine and get sent if I complete them straight through, but if I restart the folder for any reason, it rejects the existing WU as being expired and grabs a new one.
Thoughts?

Congratulations to the Newd Lewd Man for topping Vern,,,again. Now I have a question about my folding efforts. ( Can't really say I like the way they are refreshing the data every 24 hours now? )
I added three(3) new workstations yesterday in an effort to boost my production. Was planning on adding two more machines today.
My question is simple. Shouldn't the team and user data page reflect accurate processor counts? All of the new assignments were large so none have finished yet. Could that affect count of active processors?
Folding for the cause!

Hmm. that's akward for sure.
My thoughts would be stanfords still got a borked server. I've had some problems earlier this week, and it still seems like the stat updates are off to me. My FAHmon puts me at 16-20k a day, all the stats show is 12k!
That would be my guess, but I've honestly never tried Reilly's app, so IDK.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

yes, depending on which stat/update page you go buy, the numbers of CPU's will show different.
In my experience, it's not always right, more of something to get a general idea of how many, but nothing I'd bet on for sure.
Nice to see ya around Net, haven't seen ya for awhile it seems like.

You just have to get your butt back over here.

Thanks Karma, I think I got out of debate hell,,,,finally. Been spending time helping Newbs fix simple issues. Adding more toyz to my network.
Work is VERY busy with new projects at HCA Healthcare. Get this, adding enough frames to hold 114 1GB drives, thousands of tape slots.
Adding more worstations tonight so I can fold like a Mad Man!! I would like for the stats to be correct but as long as work is getting done and I keep getting new assignments I have to go eith the flow,,,,

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to ask...
If you mean that it doesn't display something like http://www.site_address.whatever/page_name, but whatever the name of that page is, then it depends on the hosting site.
If you mean that you want to specify what to call it, then you can type the text you want to call it, highlight the part you want to use as the link and click the "Insert Link" in the bar of buttons above the response box (or, in IE, press <Ctrl>+<K>) and put the address you want to use in the pop-up box that will appear....I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...
