Wow.. man things have changed from when I first started. 1st place (E-man) was only pushing about 20k a day.

Hell, I was happy with 6k or so.

I'm working it Boss, I'm working it.
Beggars can't be choosy, I'm working it Boss, gimme some slack Boss.
Its all good.
Looking at past history, some BIG Folding teams have folded and packed their bags. I gather another side effect of the current economy. Upgrading is not there or available. Just glad we still have a great core team.
KK, looks like the fan was the issue on the hsf. I can go to Fry's and look for a 92mm replacement fan, do you still need a non stock intel hsf???
If not I can use it for the next cpu upgrade.

Same here, but what constitutes a "farm". I could not have an open frame with my 3 kids around. I want to build something, but want it to be versitile so that each of the kids has a computer of their own that Daddy can use for folding in its "off" time.
I'll probably end up with a heard with out the farm.

Don't worry about it. The folding team is/has already helped me out for the year.
I'm good on the stock fan, I managed to get a 3.2Ghz OC on the Quad, and it stays under the limit, so I'm good.
But I feel like I gotta live up to my name (at least the first part) so something will be coming back to the folding team shortly. Just trying to think of a clever way to do it.
And nemo, you and everyone else is trying to come up with a good/cheap way to get a farm. Let me know if you find one.

Hmmmm, WTF, I posted the below post in last weeks chat thread and somehow it ended up in the New member introduction thread early this morning?
oh well...
started to make a new 3D desktop image, and the damn software crashed on me again, grrrrrr...
Damn Carrara 6 and its bugs.
I subscibed to 3D World Magazine today (quarterly $32 payments), freebies with the discs with each issue many times, etc, the special I got was for 40% off newstand price, plus a bonus disc with extra content and full versions of Hexagon 2.1 (already have it), and Carrara 6 Pro (YAY!!! Finally will be able to get network rendering FINALLY!!!, $500-600 worth of software)
so... C6 bugs aside, will be nice to utilize 2 or 4 or more extra CPU's on the network besides the i7's.
so, since that wasn't working right tonight I started digging through my numerous images and other pics, to see which ones I like the most for desktops, have found a ton of them.
this ones my current image I'm using though.

anyways, while working on the 3D scene I was surprised to see the CPU temps hit 60C
definitely can tell this system is being worked, but then again that was all 4 cores and with HT being utilized, C6 showed 8 cores rendering.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

That's a nice background shy. Similar to my current one.

Except I cheated, and just used GRID.

Nope You missed your target, for a short while last night the new member thread was active. so If you did like i did and just clicked on the active discussion you wound up on the Newb thread.
The Bad news: Nunya chewed a hole in my Mattress. (the old Mattress needed replaced anyway, but good grief Nunya!)
The Good news: some people down the road were throwing out what appears to be a brand new one. Brought it home, disinfected just to be on the safe side.
The Bad news: lost My Cell phone, and then found it laying in the road.
The good News: It still works. Lost the Battery cover though. Made a new one out of an old Gas/Gift card, and Black Duct Tape.

BTW, I've done a little more reading here & based on some things I saw I don't want people to get the wrong impression. I'm not looking for someone to fix this for free. I was just looking for...
