Yeah, but then again you go round letting everyone see your pants in public... We leave elephants to have trunks...
"BEDS" - would that be the bit at the back for whatever you want to take, or is that a reference to the seating..?? Bear in mind that, to us, a truck is a lorry...
We also call pretty much all 'cola' coke, mainly as it is easier - much in the same way that any vacuum cleaner is a hoover, and most painkillers (at least in tablet form) are aspirins...
With regards to the accents, we have different ones depending on where you are in London... In East London you get Cockney (and Mockney) accents, in South East "Saaaf" London there's another one, and that's without mentioning areas like Archway - where there's a definate Irish twang...

From what I've heard/seen, a lot of Yanks don't know where a lot of other countries are either... I saw a clip where Americans were asked to point out some countries (Australia, France, Russia, etc) and while some pointed to places in the US, others thought that Afganistan was somewhere around where Tazmania/New Zealand is and thought that Australia was somewhere in Africa or something.. I was trying to find it online, but (prolly down to my crapness with search engines) I haven't been able to get anything that is similar...
Don't get me wrong, there are likely to be a decent number of ppl here who don't neccessarily know where places like Afganistan are, but I think that they would at least be able to get in the vague area (somewhere near Mid-East).

NLM, I'll be the first to admit my geography isn't the best, but that is what an atlas is for. Hell, Texas is so big I haven't visited most of it yet.
Most Americans are lacking in the humor department as well, they have no sense of the absurd. Thier IDEA of funny is someone standing on stage and saying "f*ck" every second word, which I don't personally find amusing at all.
People in America spend to much time, wasting time that is on the things that are really senseless to worry about, whether I have a smoke in the bar(pub), global warming (climate change), they are to stupid to realize that the CO2 that is being released into the atmosphere was originally in it, until it was "fixed" in plant tissues.
To many people waste time being worried whether or not someone lives on fast food, let them eat what they want, they know it isn't healthy, but it is the choice they make.
Sorry NLM, I didn't mean to make this "political"...

I think that the terms "Global Warming" and "Climate Change" are recognised wherever you are (at least in the 'Developed World'). We also have bars, but they're the area where you can purchase booze (and, aparently, some other schtuffs too..!!) when you're in the pub...
I know what you're saying about smoking/(over-)eating/CO2 et cetera, and I can kinda see both sides to the argument/s - although I do tend to just make a joke about it and carry on, rather than get into it... At the end of the day, we're all going to die (regardless of colour, religion, sex (more please..!! lol), financial wealth, health, or any any other differences) and we can't really take anything with us when we do pop our clogs. So, while the UK generally has smaller capacity (less thirsty) cars than those in the USofA, we still can't change the way other countries choose to deal with any issues.
I used to smoke, and I chose to stop. There were numerous times that I stopped, but all of the previous times were due to financial constraints, so once I had enough in the bank to start up again, that's exactly what I did. The last time I stopped (4 years ago this month) was when I decided that I shouldn't smoke any more - and I haven't. I went from smoking 30 a day (and around 40 when drinking) to nothing.I've seen the light... Stupid americans!
errrr.... wait....
anywho, off to meet up with a buddy to talk about massive computer network build. Looking at a server, 4-5 smaller PC's, security camera setup, controller for moving target setup, etc... lots to think about, lots of consideration, but a HUGE budget!!

Nope, can't really poor concrete while it's raining... well you could, but it's not a good idea.
I'm trying to, that's why this is going to be 4-5 PC's, instead of just the one power house PC that he originally wanted. I think by having separate dedicated pc's as opposed to one massive one, it would be easier.
(fixed that for you)
Firefox spell check FTW!
I gotta say this is gonna be a fun project though. Not only do I get to help build the actual building, I get to design and install all the PC goodness, a MASSIVE bullet trap ( not designing, just helping build) and then at the end of it all, there is a full time job waiting for me there!

I've utilized a number of different ranges/clubs like that one.

What I'd like to find on the civilian side, is a KD range . . . going out to 1km.
I have a couple weapons that reach out that far . . . that I haven't been able to fire in a long time.
I'd be interested in the spec's of the bullet trap and ventilation as well. The best indoor range I fired at was in Everett, WA. Whoever set that one up was thinking safety and comfort. I fired on the line with LE and had a great time.

Umm.. no...
The bullet trap is gonna be something else I'm thinking. My friend has been working on that with a ATF agent, along with multiple engineers for about a year now. The city the building is being built in is extremely picky on what has to be done there. (rightfully so I guess)
The building is going to be amazing, I can say that already. Both of the owners are builders, have been for years. These are the main guys that kept me busy when I had my framing company. They're attention to detail is almost unseen down here, and that's why I enjoyed working for them. They actually appreciated all the work that went into their houses/buildings.
I know the loan is for 13 Million, and for that amount of money they are gonna make sure it is the way they want it.
Not to mention, for the IT side of things (PC's, cameras, screens, controlled target movers, etc) we're up to a little over $25k right now, and there is still a bit more to get added onto that list!
I can honestly say that this is one of the most exciting projects I've ever been on. So much to learn, use, setup, etc, it's gonna be challenging, which makes it fun!
I'll see if I can get some more info on the traps for ya. I know he said it's capable of stopping a 50mm round only after 25 yards!
I also know there is gonna be a virtual tour, pics, etc on the website once it's built. The first step is probably redoing the website though, it's a tad.... ermm..... well, amateur...Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Nothing wrong with that!
No folding on these.
And I think it's been about 7 years or so since I last did some shooting. I grew up around guns, got to shoot lots when I was young, just never really had the desire to go out and buy one. But I imagine that will change when I'm around them everyday.
And thanks for the congrats. Not really sure what all the "day to day" job will require, but I can say I'm sure it's gonna be an awesome job, as my boss would be one of my best friends. Not only that, I'm sure I'll get to play with all the new toys I'm getting ready to build for him.
I like to think it is. If nothing else, gonna learn LOTS in the next couple weeks.
Added most of the security cam's/monitors/etc this morning, floating around $28k now.
(there isn't a inch of the building that's not under surveillance, inside and out)

Semantics. The end result of less taxes is more revenue for the company. That can be re-invested, paid out as dividends, or stashed. And that is bad, how? This is the same exact argument...
