Kinda like my Linux install... Done to around 30% already - and that's on the second time of asking........... (I think I forgot to do something on the running-from-CD-version of the install, so trying again from boot - after attaching a PS2 keyboard, as the USB one wasn't being picked up until after it'd gone into the run-from-CD version of the OS)

Just a quick question (for now), but would this GPU (Novatech GeForce 9600GT SLI 1GB GDDR2 TV-Out/DVI PCI-Express - Retail with PhysX, CUDA & : NOV-96GT1) work in one of my other rigs...?

It is a Compaq "SG3100UK", which I think has the following specs:
Motherboard Specifications, 945GCT-HM (Livermore8) Compaq Presario SG3100UK Desktop PC - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English)

I'm only looking at using it to fold (I would continue to use the onboard GPU for the monitor's connection if possible, to maximise the PPD), so would it have a 'bottleneck' or would there be a better PPD-per-£ solution I could use instead...??



Asking as I want to up my (and thereby the TEAM's) PPD - and the guy who wanted me to quote has disappeared......so I can't 'piggyback' off his GPU...

Yeah that gpu would work in the system you linked to. It has a PCIe slot.

Shouldn't have any Bottleneck issues unless you're using one of the low end CPUs, even then i don't think it would be anything major.
So what will this computer be doing when its not Folding/doing other things? If its just basic stuff IE not graphics intense You won't take much of a hit in the PPD dept. running it as the main Video Card.
