Someone want to start a new thread around here???
This one is now over 2 weeks old and it's getting a bit long winded.
I'm off to my normal Monday morning breakfast with the Band.

I was thinking about starting a new thread off on Friday (in a couple of days) but I'm not going to mention what I was intending to "name" the thread though...
I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...

Ok, so we can keep on going with this one until next year.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking...

Hey congratulations flyingJJ, you are climbing really fast! What are the computers(and how many) you have running FAH?
I was looking at the stats and this caught my eye -
I have never been able to get 54k points out of a single unit - do you have any info on it?They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

He's folding SMP -bigadv WU's that have bonus points. You can only do this with I7 CPU's.
Here's the guide.

I am running 4 rigs at the moment. All 4 are i7's overclocked from 3.6 to 4.2 GHz.
My main rig is an EVGA Classified mobo, i7-920-DO 12GB ram, 2-EVGA 275 FTW's.
The kids are 2 rigs with EVGA LE mobo's, i7-920-DO's 6GB ram and an EVGA 275 each.
One rig is an ASUS p6t mobo, i7-920-DO, 6GB ram and a nonfolding EVGA 240.
I am running all 4-275's with the gpu client. All 4 - i7's are running a VMware program to fold -bigadv, -smp 8 flags.
The bigadv WU's are worth 25403 points plus a bonus for timely completion ( faster = more bonus points ). The deadline for these WU's is 4 days from when you get them ( preferred in 3 days ) and they are very large. Have been getting about 30-34 minutes per % with all 8 cores folding. They will only work to get the bonus/credit if completed within the deadline though, so unless you can fold 24/7 with an i7 ( 7-8 cores ), you probably won't make it.
Here is the guide I used to set this up. You may have to reload a few times before it will work. One caution, you will need an 8 core processor ( preferably oc'd ) to get the work done in time and for the large bonuses.
I have plans to build an i7 farm in the new year. I would like to get about 6-10 - i7's with bare bones open frames doing these WU's in addition to what I have now.
Also if you do chose this, FAHmon does not calculate the bonus points. I use HFN.net. If you need help setting this up, I posted in this thread for Networker how to do it, or let me know.Last edited by Flying JJ; December 28th, 2009 at 09:02 PM.

KakaoStats currently shows TIMO in 89th place . . .
Extreme Overclocking shows TIMO in 89th place . . .
Stanford Stats shows TIMO in 91st place . . .
I've always watched the Kakao and EO stats . . . that's what I based the top 90 before the New Year on . . .

Don't jump too fast Vern . . . I've put together a Super Cruncher, that I hope to be building in January, with any luck and the VA paying up. That system may be worth checking out . . . depending on whether it produces the PPD a number of people think it will. I think the Flying JJ is going to wait a few weeks in anticipation of the money coming in and the SC getting built.

I only really use EO (a.k.a. EOC) stats, as it is faster to load than Kakao and I never bothered with the "official" site as, well, as I don't need to...

Hey Nude!
Nude_Lewd_Man,
Good deal. I hope all the new members I have seen signing in over the holidays become "Folders". You do a great job in welcoming them.
Have noticed with all the Holiday activity that this will be my 500th posting.
Looking forward to seeing if that makes me a "Senior Member".
Thanks!
