    Net,

I'm presuming that you're referring to the F@H passkey that enables you to earn bonus points.....

You should have had in sent to you in an e-mail, mine is showing that the domain name it was sent from was '@fah-web.stanford.edu' (not going to give the start of that, just in case there are any bots that stumble on this page) if that makes it easier to search for it in your mail client..

If you're only running the CPU clients as independant instances (not SMP) then it isn't going to make any difference to your points per WU, as it is only for SMP instances of the CPU clients - GPU clients aren't elegible for bonuses. Worst case scenario, you could just re-apply for it and lose the bonus on the first ten SMP WUs you complete (again, this is also presuming that you're running with the '-bigadv' or '-advmethods' flags on the SMP clients).

If you have been running the SMP clients that would get you the bonus points, then you should hopefully be able to get into the "client.cfg" file to see what the passkey is from that. For example, the ones I set up for you (that weren't running SMP when I set them up) would be C:\F@H\CPU1\client.cfg or something like that..

Yep, passkey is more indigent to F@H than is "password", I Knew you would get it.

Found it in mail, thank you very much. Had Never loaded it in config so now I can. Which client did we use for the 250, there is only two possibilities right? Shy might have been in on that one,,

Thanks a bunch. Going to back away a little bit, I am getting the feeling some members are irked by me. I don't care for me, there are lot's of forums. But I will continue to fold under 111 !

Hi Networker, will you say who is giving you trouble? Maybe tell us what was said so we can help if you want it?

    Vern,

Nah, it would just be a "He said / She said/He said. " For one hint, go to forums and look under the main folding thread. Hundreds of views but no responses on threads I started. Maybe they didn't have the knowledge but if so, why hang out in that thread?

    I'll send you a PM.

Net, I think it could be that some of your titles could be a little more insightful as to what the issue is - for example, there could have been lots of people who thought you may have meant password, and I certainly couldn't tell (especially from the title) that it was to do with F@H; and apart from us Folders, people aren't really likely to know about F@H... The views may well have just been from people seeing it in the "latest discussions" box and clicking it.....which is all I do...

the spam thread i dont look to hard at net, so i dont expect to see much in the way of real questions. just me. I know sometimes we tend to thread in stuff but of late, since the collapse of the forum and its activity as a whole, there hasnt been much beyond spam there.

i dont really know more then install and launch for the clients so im basically useless... doesnt help i have nothing to fold on these days either.

    Nemo,

Yeah, Funny you mentioned "the collapse of the forum" You are the first person who has come out and said it but I have watched the decline. I told Nude yesterday I am going to back away and just fold on my own, what I don't know I can learn or get from OC.net

I have joined TechPowerUp and Overclockers and they have a lot of people who fold, I think we are down to uner 20 with maybe half of that active. I reaaally hate it, when I joined in May of last year it was totally different.

Found my passkey, now I can get started on that first 10 units. I don't know if bigadv actually exists or not.

    Thanks,

Hi, -bigadv does exist - but only for i7 CPUs (takes too long for other [slower] CPUs to get through) so you'd better off to go for -advmethods version instead, as that will (or at least should) be able to use as many cores as your CPU(s) have available and will earn bonus points.

Oh, and obviously keep going with the GPU clients, but bear in mind that they use a different client (EXE) and can't do SMP things... SMP is purely for CPUs.

Myself I haven't been folding at all for the past month or so for either team, just too damn hot most of the time, and running the PC non stop would heat up the PC and room too much,

I think the most taxing my PC gets is occasional gaming sessions and one of the Nvidia sponsored GPU rendered Screensavers.

    NVIDIA Cool Stuff

the 3Planesoft Screensavers, have the old watch in water themed one running for my screensaver when PC not in use, beats the hell out of the standard "2D" screensavers.

just love watching that flowing water effect on everything, plus the watch shows the actual system time as well, so its a built in clock as well LOL.

I dont even have my computer hooked up at my new place ... and the only reason i am going to hook it up at all is to see about doing some work on developing some games for the Iphone/Ipad.

    Hey,

How are you guys today? Is this an on or off week Shy? My meds are messing me up, see Doc Thursday, going to ask if my tolerance could actually go down or do we need to reduce something. Lyrica just knocks me OUT.

I noticed Harder made the big 20 million mark. Will have to start a thread in the folding forum noting his achievement. Is he still in the hospital with the hip?

    Nude,

I uninstalled the GPU client and reinstalled. Still gets hung, or FahMon says it is but it still is folding, you can watch the percentage completed. Hard time figuring that one out. And this morning the net was down, I just had to reboot the modem but I had multiple 450 point WU's sitting there. (295 rig) had one 450 sitting in the GTS 250 tray. I may need some online assistance, it might be easy for you guys to spot whatever is wrong. Likely something I did,,,,:-)

Net, if you've un-installed and re-installed, then unless you called the 'new' instance's Folding folder the same as the old one, it could be that FahMon isn't looking in the correct place...

last I saw of his posts was in the Debate Section a week or two ago.

He was in/on the IIJM thread the other day, don't know what was said, just that he'd had the last post in it when I refreshed my subs page...
