[F@H SPAM OCT 29 2010] the Fall thread
Yes I'm still here, I've just been lurking in the background.
Figured it was time for a new thread.
At least the Spam continues, its a shame the Team fell apart yet again. Sure a few people are still folding, but it gets harder and harder to find a reason to bother trying to rebuild yet again.
I'm thinking about starting a new Team at Nascarfanz.com . small website and I'll probably be the only team member for awhile, but I'm thinking it might be time for a new start.
not sure what I'm going to do.

Wow, NEW Thread, Cool!!!
I have to get my act together this coming week, and get the 2nd rig up and running and folding, for winter, add to that OCN is having another Folding Competition over there, so want to get back to running some of the GPU Clients.
but after that I may see about have one rig fold for TIMO and one for OCN, I think between the 2 9600GSO's and GT 220 (Unless I do decide to throw the 4870 in), they should be putting out almost as much PPD as the single GTX 285 in my main rig.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

"New" Member that I Highly Doubt is a new Member, unless anyone on the team can vouch for them?
http://www.techimo.com/forum/distrib...ml#post3194381
They're comments on the Hard Drive Capacity Thread, were nothing more than a Copy of Comments Made by Peter M from YEARS earlier, Post #6 on the 1st Page of that thread. No one had replied to it for 2 years up until they did too.
Then they have a post in the New Members F@H thread, a Post in the Is It Just Me Thread and has no idea or concept of the point of that thread and what people are talking about, thinking that a Senior member/s with THOUSANDS OF POSTS and Blatantly Obvious Join Dates listed on their Side Profile Info, thinking that their new members joining as well...
I Have a Name for people like that, but I can't post it due to possibility earning a severe warning or temp ban...
and then there's another post for some spyware junk and reading it reminded them to scan their PC because they haven't done so for 2 weeks...
If someone can vouch for this person, that they are indeed on the Team, and a legit member of the forums, great, if not... It smells suspiciously like a drive by poster, flagging sites for spam or something... or something along those lines.
Just the sheer randomness of all 4 posts all with in a few minutes of one another...i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Why do people have to dredge up old posts/threads, and then add/reply to something that was never asked or mentioned in the original posts to begin with?
Can people NOT READ, the dates of the posts?
Can People NOT READ, the actual posts in the thread?
You'd think if they were willing to raise the thread back from the netherworld, they would at least read all the posts and add something that actually Pertains to the damn thing rather than add some comments that has nothing to do with it?
At least I guess with the latest one, they replied to the noob who resurrected it last year, after it layed dormant for 7 years prior.
but still, the reply they had to the rest of the thread had nothing to do with what was being discussed.
New Battery for a cheap laptop, and they bring up the fact that the screen is not an Active Matrix Display and is of the Older type, has a terrible Refresh Rate, and not good for moving image based games...
Well No Shit Sherlock, probably because the Thread dates from 2002 and the Laptop they were referring to was even Older than that...
F*ck... Really... Sometimes this stuff really irritates me.
Is It Really that hard to read the posts, dates, and use some basic reasoning skills and decide if its worth posting, or not, and whether it actually pertains to the original topic, or not.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

IDK... When I'm on the BB, and reading posts here, I zoom in to only show the width of the text side of the post box/area - so I don't see who posted it or when it was...
The exception to that is with the Assosiations thread - where it is only normally a couple of words, then I just zoom to see the avatar section and some of the text area...meaning I can see who posted it and when.
I was just thinking about taking a pic to explain it, but then realised that it would be nigh-on impossible, as I'd be taking the pic of the BB from the BB...and I couldn't be @rsed to dig out the camera, or take it with one of the other BBs we've got...

got a couple of mirrors? You know, that infinite Image trick? But angle one mirror slightly to get an image of the screen facing the other mirror, and take a pic? LOL.

WHich graphics card
Why do so many people assume you can upgrade the graphics in a laptop? expect these things to be like desktops and easily upgrade things in them, as Far as I remember, they never have been. for $20+ years, laptops have never been as upgradable as Desktops.
and yet, people still seem to think they can be.
Yes there are some exceptions, but in general...
oh well, what ever, replied to it.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Um, I must be missing something, twice I've posted suggested hardware, or so I thought, and twice now They've asked what to get with their $350...
or maybe my mind is still a bit f*cked up from the chemo and stuff...
You guys tell me?
need help !!!!!
Oh and though I kept asking about "Do you have a Upgrade or Full Retail Version of Windows" I have yet to get a definitive response back yet, yes they have Windows 7 they upgraded from XP... BUT IS IT A F*CKING UPGRADE VERSION OR A F*CKING FULL VERSION, I get that its Retail, but they sell BOTH in retail...
Its like their so excited to upgrade and get a better performing system, their missing half of what has been asked or stated.
for the time being I'm not replying back right now... just irritates me when people have to keep asking "So suggest to me what I should get", I've Already f*cken listed twice parts that you need with your $350 budget.
What I want to know is if you'll be able to use Windows 7 on your PC, I don't want them coming back whining that They can't use windows on the new system, because they spent all their money on the parts, now they have a PC they can't use, because they don't have a OS to use.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Been swimming with Tia (and G) and one of Tia's friends and her Mum and Dad...I'd forgotten just how much cleavage Tia's friends' Mum has, accentuated by the swimsuit she was wearing, and that she isn't very tall (prolly about right to have a "twank"
while both standing
) and then while standing outside chatting, before going back to our respective homes, I could see that it was a bit nippy out...
(I couldn't possibly mention whether I'd like to watch her
)
