Never really wanted one of those all in one kits....
I have a custom loop setup now.... Just a CPU block ATM... dual rad, d500 pump and a 5.25" res.... Keeps CPU temps under 45C full load at 3.0Ghz 1.320v.
Looking at getting a GX2 waterblock and doing another loop, though they are so hard to find I may have to do a custom job on the GPU and get two blocks on it...
@NLM, that sounds pretty toasty, doubt the H70 would drop temps for you much, unless you do a loop where the rad comes away from the desk.I7 920 @ 4.2Ghz/6GB//GTX480 SLI/M4 64 GB + 1.5 TB + 2x 640 GB/Corsair TX950/ASUS blu-ray/ASUS P6X58D-E + X-Fi /LC PCK62

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a custom setup for those Water coolers too, but I'd be too worried of not locking something down tight enough and getting a leak somewhere.
If I had enough money, I have a setup in mind for a H2O cooler, but would consist of 2 Antec 900/1200 cases with the Rackmount kits on them, one system holding all the hardware, the 2nd containing the Pumps, Radiators and Reservoirs and "Graft" both cases together in a Rack mount. Basically a Dual 4U rack mount set up.
Of course this is if I had the money for it LOL.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Does anyone know if there are any tools or utilities similar to EVGA's Precision for ATI/AMD Radeons?
Doesn't have to be the Overclocking features, but On Screen Temp display, Fan speeds, and possibly in game Frames Per second using DirectX Overlay ability, like Rivatuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner has.
A friend has a Radeon 5870 and would like similar features that I have using Precision for my GPU's when in game to monitor all that stuff.
Would Rivatuner work with Radeons as well to display that data?i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Grrrrr, Found a few nice cars Online last night that I could "afford", got plenty for a down payment, and they'd be easy enough on the monthly payments, for 2 to 3 years, decent gas mileage, one of which is GOOD mileage, even if the car is 17 years old.
but, main obstacle is my poor credit rating.
1994 Honda Del Sol Si, Automatic, blah blah blah, 180K ish miles, not too bad. 30MPG at least.
$3400
1996 Chevy Camaro V6, Auto, Coupe, 134K Miles, $3400
Couple of 2001 Dodge Stratus Coupes, ones a Basic SE, the other is the full on RT model, about $500 price difference, similar miles, etc, both Auto's, $2500-3000.
all with in my limits of what I could afford on payments, etc.
Even a 2000 Something Saturn VUE AWD Mini SUV, was around just under $4K.
though my preferences would be the Del Sol, Camaro, and Stratus RT in that order.
All with in about 100 Miles of where I live.
I joked around with my Dad (in a sort of asking way), about the Saturn VUE, mentioning if Me, Him, and Mom were able to pitch in together, we could get a newer vehicle that would sort of replace the aging mini Van me and my dad share.
plus its AWD and an Auto, newer, and probably gets Better fuel economy.
He sounded interested, but hesitant.
I'd still rather get one of the coupes, but not likely for dad to agree on one of those LOL, so thats why I brought up the VUE.
I just wish I had the remaining $2500 or so needed to buy one of those outright, or had some other source to be able to apply for financing with very poor credit. (unfortunately most of those latter options, require the vehicles to be less than 10 years old, and paid off with in so many months, 24-36 months, etc, I believe, driving monthly payments up)i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Meh, like Toyota, Over here a lot of Honda's hold their resale, especially certain models like the Del Sol.
The Del Sol's were only made/sold from 1993 to 1997 as well, like the CRX that was its spiritual Predecessor, though far more popular, they weren't made/sold for too long.
Its really hard to find a Del Sol these days, especially one that hasn't been Riced Up by some dumb sh*t High school or college kid with some god awful massive spoilers, ugly body kits, or 20 Freaking inch rims.
The V-tec Model's are even harder to find. Though the 160HP engines are nice, I've always liked the milder Si Models, with the more basic 127HP engine.
Front wheel drive Pseudo Roadster (2 Seater, Removable roof panel, power down rear window), Great gas mileage, plenty of Trunk space, etc.
I've been looking for an Si Model to buy for 15 years now, when ever I found one, it was priced too high, didn't have the money for it, too far away to buy, too banged up (too much in repair), too high a mileage for its age, or some other thing.
Add in the scarcity of the car, its resale value holding, and it hadn't been decked out in Ricer attire, Plus with the Fuel costs so much in the states, the price of the car, coupled together with spring time weather and eventually summer coming soon, the price is understandably higher than one would expect.
on the plus side the Camaro I found out is a 1996 model, and has the 3.8L V6 in it, at some point during the 1996 Model year, they switched from the 175HP 3.4L 3400 Series V6 to the more powerful 3.8L 3800 Series 6 with 200HP. Apparently this one has the 3.8 in it, which is what I've been looking for in a Camaro for the past 6 or so years. 3.8 with Auto Tranny, and Coupe body (preferably with T-top, but its not a deal breaker), and the mileage ain't bad for a 15 year old car at 134K on it. The only "ick" factor of the car is the Plum color, which isn't THAT bad, but one of its owners accented the interior Vents, and door controls as well as steering wheel with that same Plum Color, which just DOES NOT look right LOL.
One dealer had a REALLY nice 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT (not sure if it was the base 160HP model, or the mid grade 220HP model, I know it wasn't the 300+HP VR4 AWD model, was one of the regular FWD models), but the price was just a bit too high, though I know those cars hold their resale fairly well. If I could afford it, I would consider one of those 3000GT's. 4 seater like the Camaro, Hatchback body, looks just as good, if not better, tad smaller in size, similar fuel economy, Front Wheel drive, so its more suitable all year round driver up here in the north.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Camero would be nice, not much of a fan of the 3000GT/GTO (then again im not too keen on Asian cars.... Toyaota, Nissan etc....) Just 60-70's american and 70-80's european cars....
They have those del sol cars here though I think its just a civic/CRX here... You see then every now and them but as you say some dumb a*** has put everying including the kitchen sink attached to it... With some silly drain pipe on the back...

Yeah, the funny thing is, I like the 3000GT, but I don't care much for the Dodge Stealth, despite the fact their the SAME EXACT car, only slight different styling,
Its like the 2000+ Dodge Stratus Coupe and Mitsu Eclipse, their both the same exact Car, but I like the Dodge a tad better, as it doesn't have the Eclipse's Stupid Raked/Ribbed siding on it, never really liked that on the Pontiac Grand Am's either, just thought it looked dumb.
At least with My Old Car, 1996 Mazda MX6, its twin was the Ford Probe, both the same car, with 2 COMPLETELY different Body Styles, which is hard to explain to some people. I loved both cars equally, the MX6 for its Styling and more upscale look and the Probe for its more Practical Hatch design and Sportier Looks.
But as to the Manual Transmission, No, not good driving a stick, I wouldn't mind a Stick for a 2nd car to drive around for fun, but I do a lot of highway driving, so car stays at 55-60 the whole way except a couple small towns, then a lot of stop and go every block or two in town.
I know a stick would probably get better fuel economy, and would cost less in repairs usually... But its also a good idea for me not to be using a stick, trust me, I'd probably be more inclined to speeding tickets and exhibitionist driving tickets (Burn outs, donuts, Drifting, etc) if I did have one.
Stick wouldn't be too bad, if it was one of those newer Semi Automatic Setups, but shifting for me would get old quick with stop and go traffic, and for most of my drive I'm usually doing a set pace (have a 20 Mile Drive home, on fairly open highway, unless some dipsh*t is creeping along below the speed limit or speeding up then slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, in which case, as soon as I have a shot I pass them by and leave them in the dust behind LOL.
LOL, the odd thing is, when I drive I rarely ever use Cruise control, I just don't like using it unless I have the road to myself, as I alway eventually catch up to someone, and have to let off on the cruise to stay off their bumper or pass them.
I also NEVER use Cruise in bad weather or winter weather, you never know when you'll need to hit the breaks, or accelerate, and using cruise lulls you into a false sense of security and relaxation when driving like that, cutting your reaction time down.
But I'm one of those people always fiddling with the radio, changing stations when music comes on I don't like, LOL, I memorize where the buttons and controls are, so rarely have to look at it, and can keep my eyes on the road, am also usually drinking water or juice or pop while driving as well, using a stick would eliminate that ability especially in town.
I think part of my problem with stick was when I first learned, I didn't start on a basic car, but a Front Wheel Drive Turbo Charged 4 Cylinder, Early 90's Plymouth Laser RS Turbo, Would always stall out the damn thing, the few times I did get it going, I was fine, but since this was at a car dealer, we never got more than 2 blocks from the dealer, and would only be able to get it to 30MPH before I had to shift down again, which didn't help.
And though I know its not the same thing, I suck at using a Manual in many computer racing sims, if its an Auto or Semi Auto I can usually drive MUCH MUCH better in game, since I don't have to mess with figuring out when to down shift when decelerating.Last edited by ShyguyXPC; April 1st, 2011 at 03:44 PM.

That's an odd setup, the gpus and ram are between 2 cards screwed together? Is it just the GPU and 8 ram chips that need cooling? A single water block could me machined for that such that you screw the cards together to contact the block assuming you can get good measurements.

yeah, those 9800GX2's, just like the 7950GX2 before it, and its successor, the first version of the GTX 295, they usually rely on a Waterblock that sits between the cards, but from the looks of it, the few I have still seen around for the 9800 is around $200.
I would imagine the VRM's need to be cooled on that card too, besides the RAM and GPU.
not sure about the SLI bridge/Controller chip, I think thats the odd chip Aaron was mentioning on the Primary Card.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

I've got a 2.2 litre [Vectra] auto...and I hate it - constantly fecking about dropping it into and out of drive when in traffic (esp if on level ground) and get frustrated by it choosing to be indecisive when it gets to a slight incline... Where it was going along at ~60 in top on cruise control, it would suddenly decide that it wants to drop a cog or two and just wind me up...
Looking at getting a new [to us] motor, prolly something like the Mazda 6 or similar... Must be 5 door hatch (need four doors into the main compartment, don't like the boot space of a saloon [too restrictive] and do not want an estate) and I'm gonna either go semi-auto or just back to a manual...I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...

Been wanting a Mazda 6 with the rear Hatch since they came out, but unfortunately their still too much used. A Mazda 3 Hatchback would be fine too, been wanting one of those as well... Downside, their even newer than the 6 and have yet to come down in price, that and the regular Sedan model is much more common than the hatch style.
In case you guys haven't realized over the years, I'm a Mazda (RX7, MX5 Miata, MX6, MX6, Millenia, RX8, Mazda 6, Mazda 3, 2nd Gen Protege's, Love them all) and Chevrolet (Camaro, Corvette) guy LOL, with a few other likes from other brands also, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, a couple Ford and Dodge, have always loved Lotus, but for obvious reasons, their out of my price range LOL... had a chance years ago to pick up a Nice Turbo Charged late 80's Esprit for 8 or 9 grand, someone out here was selling one... guess the bank wasn't willing to loan me the money on it, was too old, and out of their idea of what I could afford. a year or two before that, I had found one of those Lotus Elan's as well, also was too much for me... or so the bank thought.
yeah, thats what I was thinking too, on the size of the chunk of metal needed. Besides the contact with the components, since its a Waterblock, you'd also need to figure out the appropriate size of the water channels needed, for optimum cooling, whether you wanted just flat channels, or grooved/Channeled, etc...i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
