Im pretty much sold on the GTX560 and a second mabye for that mentioned game down the road (not to mention crysis 2).

I shouldn't need a power supply upgrade to run two. Only thing is im not sure how many more GPU upgrades I can do till my Q6600 becomes a problem.

yeah, my 920 is still doing fine for me here.

for this ArmA 2 though the 285 is holding me back, as I got the Hard drive thing taken care of (RAID 0), so thats fine, CPU speed and performance is Fine.

Only other 2 factors is Internet speed/connection stability depending on the servers, and GPU visuals and eye candy on my end.

Video I recorded the other night of trying out a sample map in Single player, trying out the vehicles.

This one is in the A-10, and at very end I'm on foot after ditching my plane.

But roughly around 8:30 into the video, I'm able to appreciate the scenery much better while in the plane (Up to that point I'm back and forth down the valley firing weapons and what not, then decide to make my way back down the valley in a position that allowed me to see what was under me the whole time LOL. If you watch the video, you'll see what I'm talking about)

Best Watched in 720p and with the Expand video option enabled to better see it.

But even this video doesn't do the game justice.

This was with the 3D Interface set to 1920x1080 and the game rendered at 1280x720.

every visual option only set for Normal, and it only supports DX9, as theres no DX10 support for the game at all.

Buildings and what not aren't as Destructible as Crysis, or Bad Company 2, but its close enough. Though the Foliage and trees and stuff are no where near as detailed as in Crysis of BC2, but again, its close enough too.

But everything I was doing there, had there been actual enemies firing back, or in a heated battle in multiplayer, the frame rates would of been dropping badly.

Probably would improve some if my 920 was OC'd to 3GHz or so, as the game only really needs a Dual core to run.

Wow... Stuck between 20-30FPS for most of that... Really needs SLI support.

Have you tried a mild overclock to see if it makes any difference?

Not really for me... Its just a slightly improved 1156 setup. I see it runs alot cooler and just as fast as 1366 I7 quads. Im waiting for the 1366 replacement at the end of the year.

Im definately holding off... Only benifits i've seen is improved on-board video and higher/cooler overclocks.

well, FRAPS doesn't help either, set it at 30fps for recording and it forces the damn game to run at 30fps no more than that.

if I set it at 50fps the frame rates during recording improve, but those options are supposed to be recording frame rates, and FRAPS has always done that for games.

it should be smart enough to reduce say 40fps in game rates to 30 fps when saving the files.

    but apparently not.

also found a thread over on OCN that helps with some stuff for the base game ArmA 2.

Turned on Force Vsync Off for the game, so will see if that helps some in game today or not.

So i dont really need onboard, Unless that is another GPU client i can fold with, and i dont typically overclock cause i dont "need" to overclock.

So nothing really good for me, guess i can hold off on the upgrades until later. Maybe it will drop to "value" priced CPU right into my price range.

I'm still waiting for Intel to release some damn Sub $100 CPU's, like they had with Pentium Dual core and Celeron Dual core on Socket 775.

So far we have had Socket 1366 (which is understandable considering the target audience) and Socket 1156 which has had NOTHING in that regards, Now Socket 1155 and still nothing.

Sure there's the Pentium G6950 but its still a $100 CPU, and sometimes can be found for a bit less.

But Intel is Losing A LOT of ground in the area below that in pricing to AMD.

And would make sense to have something in that range for low budget gaming PC's and HTPC's as well.

I have been kicking around the idea that if Intel is not going to offer a better low end CPU then i am switching to Nvidia which means that i may also opt for a crossfire board and plan for that as my eventual goal.

    I think you meant AMD?

But I know what you mean, the cheapest Sandy Bridge Socket 1155 CPU is $185.

Does anyone know, is there a program I can download for windows that lets me turn on/off Hyperthreading in the PC's Bios from with in Windows?

ArmA 2 I found out benefits from having HT disabled, but my 3D software benefits a little from having it on, so rather than shutting the system down and accessing the Bios manually everytime was wondering if there's an easier way of doing it?

    GTX 470 IT IS!!!

Just ordered it, Open Box, $183.xx with 7.xx In shipping, came to just under $192 total.

they also had a Radeon 6870, Also an MSI brand, Twin Frozr Design card, for $199, with 5 or 7 bucks in shipping.

Figured I'd just get the 470 for single card performance for now.

Its an MSI, stock clocked, but should be good enough for the price for now.

This one: Newegg.com - Open Box: MSI N470GTX-M2D12-B GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Current Card is an MSI also... So is my Mobo... Kind of a Theme going here LOL.

Last 2 mobo's I had, Socket 775 and Socket 939 were also MSI boards.

Anyways, this way it leaves me with enough cash to order Season 2 of Either Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict, or Andromeda Both of which I have Seasons 1 of, and just finished watching the Latter for 2nd time last night.

$28 or so each on Amazon.

    Should also add I'm getting a "free" 1546MB GTX 260 216 Core

The Guy I shipped the 9800GTX and stuff too, his son can't get the card to run stable, that he got free from another friend in our clan.

No matter what he tries, gets BSOD's at random, even in 2D mode in windows browsing web, and other lock up issues.

Has tried 3 different working stable PSU's.

So they're sending that to me, if I can get it to work, then can keep it for my own use if I want.

Otherwise use it as a paper weight LOL.
