DAMN, if Only I had the room, and the funds for this case... would put my Thermaltake Armor to shame...

Newegg.com - Xigmatek Elysium Black CCC-HSA0DS-U01 All Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Super Tower Computer Case

not a big fan of the aesthetic looks of it, but with 10 rear Expansion slots, 12 5.25" bays in front, 6 of which are used when using the Quad 3.5" drive cages, but still leaves 6 main bays open.

top and bottom 240x120 mm Radiator spots, 7 liquid hose openings, etc etc etc...

If I had the money to fill it up with goodies this is the case I'd be looking at, but I have to float back down to the real world, and be content with the case and stuff I have LOL.

900mhz is almost stable - got some artifacting (rarely, when gpu @ 100% for period of time) even at 1125mV. Not going to give any more volts to it, but ironically 895mhz @ the same volts is stable LOL....

May just keep it at 875 - not like the extra 20mhz will make a noticeable difference.

Bought a 3ds xl today, god knows why but I did.

It's on a shell shocker deal.... $139.99 more in line with the funds? (still crazy expensive for a case, then again ima cheapo when it comes to them )

Yeah, Thats Why I saw that earlier, it was in line for shell shocker today.

If I had the funds, it would be an option. But to be honest the only thing I'd toss in is one of those Boards with 7 PCIe x16 slots, or one of the EVGA or Asus, Dual Xeon boards with 7 or 8 x16 slots.

Along with Water cooling for each GPU, and a fairly high end one at that, for a large Folding Rig more or less.

$140 isn't too bad, upper end of what I'm willing to pay for a case, but $80 is about my limit now days on cases... maybe $140 if it can be warranted. The only cases right now a bit beyond that I would consider is the Corsair Graphite Series ones I've wanted for the last year and half or so.

other thing is, is I'd have to load that B up with a ton of SSD's and HDD's, if I were to use it for gaming at all.

Maybe a couple high end cards, and rest all for folding, then 4 or 6 SSD's in RAID 5, and a few or more standard HDD's in RAID 5.

thing is, I've steered away from multi drive systems in recent years, a single DVD drive, and only a few HDD's at most now for me.

Soooo.... see any changes in my sig?

Call me crazy, but the GF got me a late anniversary gift lol... (I helped pick it out, but offered to split the cost) - had a video card promo discount, + mail in rebate for it... 7970ghz edition for under 400 bucks? Sureeeee (and I only paid 200 on my half!)

So why a 7970 GE and not a 670 or 680? This absolutely HAS to last me a while (probably losing my job) - so the 3gb of vram, and plenty of bandwidth should hold me over...

Besides at 400 it was a decent deal for the price of a 670..

Going to sell my GTX480 me thinks - half tempted to use it as a physx card but thats jsut too much heat and waste.

Downside? My 8120 will hold this gpu back without a doubt - hopefully pile driver will fix that issue.

    Lucky!!!

Sell the 480 and use that towards a 7950... then when the GHz Edition Firmwares come out for them to compete with the GTX 660 Ti, flash that, and get a decent bump in performance, clock it up as far as it will go, and run Crossfire on the 7970

LOL, in either case, NICE card, that 3GB and 384-bit bus will definitely help in games like BF3 and high AA settings and such.

My GTX 560 Ti SC is on its way, guy shipped it out today, waiting to see the tracking in the system.

So hopefully by end of week, since he's only shipping from 2 states over.

I have the FPB clocked to the SC clocks, core, shader and memory, and only raised temps a tad, but I just modified the fan speed curve in Precision to compensate a bit.

Was Playing ArmA 2 last night, and while flying in an F35 bombing the SHAT out of stuff, it was doing about 40C or so, until my game crashed.

some ground combat it was hitting 70C, so seems to fluctuate back and forth.

Really hoping the 2nd 560 Ti works out in SLI.

The 7970GE should be here on Thursday!

I've got a problem now, the gpu upgrade itch gets me each time... lol. Went from x1950pro to 550ti, to gtx480 to 7970GE in what, less a years time?

Unfortunately, crossfire is out of the question for this board. I mean, technically it supports it, but my second pci-e slot is only 4x and thats going to limit anything worthwhile to being useless.

I wonder if I can get like $160-170 for my 480 - considering it's an evga model and was bought new only a few monthes ago...

I honestly feel weird moving past it so soon, because quite frankly I love that card and it has not let me down.

But with the deal I got on the 7970 I couldnt resist. Afterall, it will run slightly cooler too, considering I kept a stock cooler, overclocked 480 at 890mhz core w/ 1125mV 480 at under 75*c for hours of gaming)

My 480 also with that overclock was probably pulling well over 300 watts, too, so it'll be a bit less stressful on the psu (not like our hale-82's swill stress either way)..

    __

Best part though? Your 560ti's are more than likely still going to outperform it for less money

    __

hopefully your setup gets here soon too, we can both say we are finally playing in the 'big boy' range of gpu's now (for atleast a few monthes )

How does the OC feel performance wise though on it for now?

barely noticeable, but I have noticed a SMALL frame rate bump.

ArmA 2 seems to be running a tad better in game last couple nights, despite the random game crash (normal for the game).

I'm able to do 40-50fps in most maps in by myself, as soon as someone comes in, it will drop, but there was a slight bump in performance, but barely noticeable, if I had not been playing all along with EVGA Precision showing my fps performance onscreen for the past few months.

the 2nd 560 Ti, should be enough for that game for the fore see able future. Then it will just be the CPU I need to focus on upgrading/OCing.

though ArmA 2 is notoriously fickle about SLI and Crossfire, you can have 2 Identically setup PC's and it will run great in SLI/Crossfire on one, and like crap on another.

so hoping for the best with that.

Skyrim already runs great at complete maxed out ultra settings for the stock game, haven't used any enhancement packs yet.

Portal 2, same thing, runs maxed.

Serious Sam 3, Metro 2033, and a couple others still bring this PC down to its knees, which can be expected.

Might be able to sell that 480 on OCN, since you got it clocked so high, maybe someone looking for a 2nd or 3rd in SLI might be interested?

speaking of which - i normally always used fraps for fps - do you think afterburner / precisions one is better or takes away less resources?

Yea, I might try OCN, though I've never registered an account so people may feel weary about - if anything might link them over here for 'credentials'

    180 shipped asking too much?

Then again.... my bro's pc kinda sucks... i can always get a cheap am3+ mobo, get a cheap case, and win 7 64 for under 200

I can then give him the 480, my ocz 700w psu, and reuse his 4gb ddr 1333 and x4 645 for now.

Then, when I upgrade to pile driver (and im forced to now with the 7970 due to bottleneckinglol) he can have the fx-8120...

It is his bday in september after all

I would use precision/afterburner if you don't use Fraps's recording feature...

I like to have FPS, GPU temp and GPU usage on screen... So I just use Precision...

I only use Fraps when I'm actually recording, otherwise, I have Precision running with fps, GPU temp, fan speed, and such on screen.

Not sure on the 480 price, I have been seeing a lot of 465, 470 & 480's going for between $100-180 range lately, depending on the cards, and such.
