| [ECC2] need more power!
Join the TechIMO ECC2 team! We need your help! http://ecc2.student.utwente.nl/teamurl.php?team_id=19
We are holding first place but other teams are starting to pass us in the number of recruits so DPs will surely follow.
This current client ( http://www.ecompute.org/ecc2/clients.html ) is very stable and not as resource needy as many other project clients have been.
After you download the client, edit the ECC2-109.cfg (change // email=admin@eCompute.org to email=your@emailaddress; be sure to remove the // ) and start crunching!
You do not need an Internet connection to run the client. You can "sneaker-net" the DPs via floppy (or even network) to an Internet connected machine and send them in from there.
After you have submitted one or more DPs an account should be created for you and a confirmation email sent. Then go to http://ecc2.student.utwente.nl/personalpage.php to join the TechIMO team!
If you don't like the Cmmmand Prompt client screen in Windows, you can run the client as a service or get a GUI wrapper that can hide the client window. Also available at http://www.ecompute.org/ecc2/clients.html |

This is a great DC project for those that want a fair shot at getting into the top ranks since it is just starting.
If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. |

Second is not bad from where I am sitting!
BTW, there is another GUI utility available from XsCode, I am going to test it on a few machines.

I would really like to run this project, but I wish they would have a client that would work well with UD... I ran it on my 1900+ and ECC2 hogged ALL the cpu time. Most other DC projects i've tried out shared the cpu time pretty evenly. One thing I did like is that it uses considerably less memory than UD, so I removed UD from my P200mmx in favor for ECC2 since it only has 80MB total... I know its not much at all, but if they release a client that will play nicely with UD, i'll put in on my other machines (1gig tbird, 1.333gig tbird, and a 1900+) |

RamonGTP: I thin kyou should give ECC2 a try with UD, at least on the 1900+. I run UD and ECC2 on many machines because this ECC2 client seems better than the last. |

The new client has priority settings. I'm still looking at it (as it runs with UD) to decide which settings work best.
Even if I have to turn it off once in a while to let UD catch up.. no real problem. |
