Folding@home

Is anyone still running this? Or am I just so far out of the loop that it ended and I didn't know about it.I never really hear too much about it.
I wanted to help out some of the other teams that are looking for recruits, but don't want to abandon the current team I'm on if it is still active.

Sanman,

Their are a few of us still folding for Techimo, but the project is so boring and not glitzly that most people bailed out on to more glamorous DC projects. Not to mention that it takes so long for a wu to finish with so little points to show for/brag.

Basically if you believe on Stanford's line that the science is the best in DC projects because they are showing results by way of Scientific papers, then folding is for you. If you want to shoot up the ranks on stats and compete with the big boys and point at slow pokes cuz they got weany boxes, then other projects are much better.

Depends on what you want to do with your box. Me I'll stick with Stanford cuz I like what they are doing, besides the big boys are helping out already on other Techimo DC projects. Figured this one needs all the help it could get.

Gilamanster is out on Genome@Home doing his thing.

Thanks for the reply Engracio.
I will also stick with the project. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time.
Don't really care about stats, hardly ever look at them.

I'm running it, I just recently started. I liked it, so thought I'd run it for a while.

Well that is good, at least three of us are folding still. Some only dump wu once in a while cuz their boxes are the older type. Just hope they get those wu back in time to be beneficial. They are much suited to do Genome@Home .99 version, it does not have any time limit. For Folding@Home3, I would say anything over 1 gig will do.

BTW, fosin welcome to the team if I have not officially welcomed you yet. Thanks for your help.

Keep on folding guys and gals.

eweruk that is one project that is steadily climbing the ranks, granted at a snails pace but steadily climbing up. Thanks to people like you which hangs in there.

My lappy running genome at work is down due to re image till I can set it up next week when I get back. My trusty PII333 should still be cranking away.

Hi all. I have 2 boxes (XP1800's) running Folding@home along with Genome@home.
I am still on dial-up so this gives me a way to control my uploads/downloads!
I am well within the time deadlines for folding running this way!

I haven't run folding for awhile now, but i may put it back on one of my mowers once i get the fleet back in running order.

I sold one, broke one, shut one down so i could use the workbench.
Presently I have an XP1900+, and 2 k6-2s(450@524, 500@550) running Genome@home .99 classic.

Hopefully this weekend I will get my duron 1.2 running. In the near future I plan to add another duron (950) and yet one more k6-2, (maybe 2.)

I'm going to have to hide some of them in the attic or the wife will pitch a fit.

Nunya, if you put that XP1900 on folding and run genome with folding, it won't hurt the genome output at all! What you will need to do before the folding protein finishes is shut genome down! Otherwise, when the benchmark runs for folding, it will download the core for genome and give you a genome.

Keep mowin'
